I loved it last season when he gave Gerrard the PFA award and said "I'm my opinion the best midfielder in Europe, Stevie Gerrard." In front of everyone in English football.

Great man.

RIP

Sad to hear this.

RIP Alan Ball.  Always came across as an honest and decent football man whenever I saw him interviewed.

Growing up in Liverpool during the 60s-70s,I hated Alan Ball, even when he joined Arsenal. As I got older and wiser I realised what a good footballer he was.His enthusiasm and love of the game was there for all to see.During the last World Cup I saw him interviewed,he was furious at Englands lacklustre perfomances. He was exactly what we needed in the dressing room.

RIP Alan, a great player,a great patriot and a true gentleman.
You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older.
Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged woman.Stuff you pay good money for later in llife
