Growing up in Liverpool during the 60s-70s,I hated Alan Ball, even when he joined Arsenal. As I got older and wiser I realised what a good footballer he was.His enthusiasm and love of the game was there for all to see.During the last World Cup I saw him interviewed,he was furious at Englands lacklustre perfomances. He was exactly what we needed in the dressing room.
RIP Alan, a great player,a great patriot and a true gentleman.
You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older.
Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged woman.Stuff you pay good money for later in llife
