Rafa is wrong to say this about Aqualani.

Whos fault is this really?

Who bought him knowing his injury record?

The good point is we haven't paid much of the total sum yet.
The bad poit is that noone will pay us even close to what the total sum is.

We just have to hope he gets injury free cause he has a great football mind.

Can't be a bad injury as he's on the bench today.

Mystery ankle injury indeed...! Leads you to think that maybe the injury was in Aquaman's head and nowhere near as bad as was originally ???

Maybe it's in Benitez's head.

I don't think Aquilani has got it, and the manager is probably onto something when he says that much of his injury problem is in his head. That said, I cannot think of a more efficient way of fecking a player off than effectively calling him a hypochondriac in the press. Rafa's man management techniques really are staggering at times, and his deperation to deflect blame/criticism onto others when there has been a feck up isn't a pretty sight.

If it isn't "fecking Parry " being to blame for signing Keane once he turned out to be shyte, it's "fecking Aquilani" for always being injured (despite the fact that before we bought him he was always injured). He was a poor buy from someone who is tarnishing his record on a weekly basis into being a poor manager. History will not look back on the Benitez era very kindly, and the final assessment is getting worse by the week.

I think you're reading too much into those comments. He said the doctors would make an assessment when they got back (from Portugal) but that at point they weren't sure exactly what the problem was. That explains the 'reporting' of the pain.

Harry Kewell indeed JBG. Anyone know how much we have actually paid so far?

We will make a loss on him that's for sure but I don't think he is cut out for this club.

I reckon Aqualani will be another Robbie Keane,  I think I'm right in saying we paid Roma 7m upfront for him with all the rest in installments over the next 3 years. We will give him back to Roma in the summer losing the 7m we paid upfont but escaping the rest of the payments.

Better than being lumbered with him I say. What a mess though, Xabi gone, Riera out of the side and now mr glass. Is it any wonder our team has gone to bits? Cannot wait for this season to be over.

Why is there always this obsession with how much we've paid "so far"? FWIW I think we are contracted to pay 15 million Euro's by 30th June this year, but whatever, we will be paying Roma 20 million Euro's plus add ons very shortly.

Contrary to what some people think, we will have to pay the fee even if we sell him. Allied to that is the fact that he'll be on a very chunky wage, which means any prospective purchaser has to consider not only the silly fee we'd be asking (not as silly as the one we paid presumeably but you get my drift) but also huge wages. All this for a player who is perpetually injured and even when fit has played well at Home against Portsmouth so far.

If the possible purchasors aren't prepared to match his wages, he'll be staying where he is I should think. P!ssing the player off under these circumstances seems to me to be the hieght of stupidity. The best bet surely is to build him up, to play him, to believe in him in the hope that he starts to play somewhere near his potential. I disagree with JBG as it's not Harry Kewell all over again, it's Robbie Keane all over again. How long before the numpties start the "but Rafa never really wanted Aquilani" stories.

Rick Parry must be laughing his c0ck off. "Total control of the club from top to bottom"? Great move that was.

Arnt most of the add ones dependant on each season we qualify for the CL?

Agree with your last point though. It's a big chunk of change to be throwing down the drain.
