Watched the Blind Side on a flight over to the US last week. Really enjoyed it, I'm a sucker for these true stories, I was nearly crying on the plane! Completely convinced by Bullocks performance as well, fair play. I'd give it an eight (and Sandra would get one as well, hehehe).

Agree with the first two, haven't seen "Blind Side".

I haven't seen any of those but I agree with Avatar not being the Best Picture of the year. What a pleasant surprise. Well in, Academy.

Isn't saying much, though, when a film like Hurt Locker get's best picture either. I checked out the review score on rottentomatoes.com before watching, and from the score it got, you'd be thinking it was the best film of all time, but when I watched it, I didn't think it was anything that special. Was a decent show, not an amazing one IMO.

On the otherhand I watched Gran Torino last night for the first time, and what an absolutely brilliant film that is. Simple enough plot, but all held together by an amazing script and Eastwood's on screen persona. He's brilliant is Big Clint. For such a serious actor, his comedic skills are better than most with some of his wise crack one-liners.

Weird how we all sometimes see things so differently.

I was blown away (no pun intended) with the Hurt Locker, one of the best films I'd seen in a long time.

Clint's a f'uckin' legend and I definitely enjoyed Gran Torino, but if truth be told (imo) the movie was chock full of cliches' and stereotypes.

Brothers

Expected a lot more form this, it never really got going, the scenes in Afghanistan where good but the rest of it was a bit drawn out and in the end I was glad it was over. Dawson was right though Ms Portman is hot hot hot :hearts

The Road

Hmmm....not a lot going on here, 2 hours of pushing a trolley around a burnt earth and then the ending is $hit. Made to try and win an Oscar but too many unanswered questions by the end and Mrs Dundalk not happy I made her sit through all it.

With the ending I suppose its open for a part two if they want but I wont be queuing up for that one.

The Great Debaters

Now this one I enjoyed. A true story about a black debating team and the trouble they face back in 1930's America. Denzil Washington is brilliant as their teachers and mentor and and Forest Whitaker is in it...whats not too like. Some great acting and I think it was directed by Washington too

Just watched Shutter Island and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it Dicaprio was superb and so was Kingsley although I did get on to the twist in the story ...the final twist at the very end was succinct but catered solely for the more moralistic amongst cinema buffs ,put bluntly it wasn't needed and it added little to the film ,why do American film Directors seem intent on ending with an ethical and some would say noble closing scene with sickening repetition ....

Brothers' been the last one I've seen. Well, I kind of agree. In my opinion, the director didn't put too much heart on the film, but N. Portman's acting and she herself, makes it alright. It's also interesting how the brothers seem to swap places in the family. Nothing new, though. 6'5/10

Jaysis Dundalk, you must be joking.

The Road is one of the best films I seen in years.

I can't fault it at all. Except maybe the ending.

Goodfellas on ITV 4. Good film that but its with adverts and looking at the time the ads will be of girls so desperate to talk they want you to text them. SOD OFF IM WATCHING THE FILM, try my missus, she takes the BT quote "Its good to talk" to the limit !

Just watched From Paris With Love and The Collector. I was all ready to turn F.P.W.L off and then Travolta appeared and the film just took off, loved it one of the best films I have watched in ages. The Collector is a little bit far fetched but makes the SAW series look like Disney !. Got 9 Dead to watch later today

Watched District 9 the other day, well nearly did I turned it off towards the end.What a load of sh!t.

I also watched Triangle with Melissa George, what a weird film that was, definitely worth a watch, one of those films that you watch once and you would never watch it again but a decent enough film.

Got Harry Brown and Shutter Island to watch over the next few weeks
