The lack of appreciation and understanding of his general play on here beggars belief. Football isn't all hollywood passes and tricks, flick and super strikes and vollys that fly into the top corner. His positional awareness is top class for the most part and an important attribute all on its own, more so than passing in his role, and only those who haven't a clue about the game would fail to spot this.

That is about the best post I have read on this thread, the utter :censored: posted by people like Kerry07 is bang out of order. Lucas is far more creative than people give him credit for but also does the unnoticed dirty work. He is a different type of player to Xabi but for some reason is always compared. Arsenal have been playing the same formation as us, put Lucas as 1 of the 2 in their side and maybe people would appreciate him for what he is.

I really cannot read any more of the b0ll0x being spouted on here.

I am not even going to take the pi'ss.
Look at videos of the last two games to see his "creativity"

He has been better in the last few months but it still isn't good enough for a club of this calibre.

He always look ok, he is never a 9/10, always between 6 or 7 because he is just average for a Liverpool side.

Put it this way mate, could you see him getting into Arsenal or Chelseas squad? Not got anything against the guy personally but he is not good enough. Waste of money.

Just a question to people that think Lucas is a creative player, do they actually play football IRL (In Real Life)? Like a proper game with at least 5 a side?
My point is almost any football player can do what Lucas does and nothing is hard about it. I dont mean any disrespect but that's what I'm seeing.

lucas is Bolton/Blackburn standard player... having said that i dont know where he'd fit in at Bolton with Wilshire/Elmander being superior players. Also Blackburn fans have been used to seeing Tugay pulling the strings in the heart of midfield so they'd obviously be miffed with having lucas.

Lucas must be the worst centre mid we have had since Leonhardsen who we bought from Wimbeldon.Lucas has improved but he still adds nothing to the cause giving silly free kicks away and not having the vision to pass the ball further than 5 yards and adding nothing to his goal tally. When Rafa goes Lucas won't be far behind that's for sure.A totally shocking player

With that said it isn't as if poor Lucas (and i do pity him as he is clearly over his head and out of his elements) chooses to be that limited...This is the player his abilities (or inabilities) are for all to see but the one man who can actuelly do something about it is the same man who plays him.

Again, Not Lucas ,only Rafa ,our manager is fixated on certain players that borders with obsession disorder.
