He has brought some much needed steel to the defence and fair play to him because he was already classed as a bad buy because of the 1.5m we had paid for him and the fact he had played for Rangers.

Well done "the Greek"

Mom for  me again yesterday . Playing well , like Kerry said very physical and a brute . He's brought a physical presence  to the back line . I reckon he will defo play against the bitters as they like the physical stuff aswell . Good buy for £1.5 million .

he is one of the few players that seems to won people over. i am defo in cat as his first few games he didn't look worth 1.5 mill beans never mind pounds. but he lad plays with a lot of heart and seems to have realized that in the prem if you are prepared to go for everything ball out you will win 99% as most of the strikers are fannies.... still get sacred when the ball is on the floor near him. agger for me is the best we have at the back but stats are saying we are stronger in the air with sorber the greek at the back ......... ps i don't care who plays as long as we beat the bitters but i would stick with it at the mo

i'd like to echo that. was a stage in the game where there was a bit of header tennis going on, but he won everything in the air, clearing his line everytime. the boy did well.

a rare positive for us in recent matches...the lad has played well and in my view has out performed Skirtel by a mile.

He was outstanding again yesterday, a real bargain, ideal for games against the likes of Bolton.
Won everything in the air and Davies did nothing.

He played well yesterday even saving one off the line, in my opinion it is going to be hard to drop him when all our defenders are fir. He deserves his spot in the team.

Not only can he can battle but he can play a bit and get in positions to score goals as well.He certainly showing the way for Skrtel and Agger.

Unbelievable how Agger and Skrtel have gone off the boil.

Amazing how a couple of games can completely turn opinion of a player.

After the Lyon game he was absolutely slaughtered on here, now he's a hero.

The sad fact is that our centre backs have played so poorly over the last 12 months or so, that a half decent journeyman with a bit of experience has come in and looked better than any of them.  Fair play to Kyrgiakos.  He's not fit to lace Sami's boots as a player, but at least he brings a bit of aggression and determination to the side.  He deserves to keep his place.  He's better than Skrtel and unlike Agger seems capable of staying fit.

And for the record, Carra is playing better as a fullback than he has been as a centre half for the past two seasons or so.

Carra is poor at RB so that isn't saying much about him in his central position IMO. He looks very awkward at RB to me and I'd rather Darby or Kelly at fullback anyday of the week.

As for Soto well... He's doing a sterling job and on form merits a starting place for me.
