He is even slower than Alonso...The sad truth is that Lucas seems a better player than him....To me, Aquaman just doesn't have it. If you have class, you can see it right away. Anyway, i tried to be as positive as possible as we won tonight but Aquaman's performance is worrying.

In a nutshell. Said previously that Rafa has made a mammoth blunder because Aquilani was bought to replace Alonso, but he plays in Gerrard's position...advanced midfield. Thats where you attempt the killer ball..and look for constant openings. Not central midfield.
The scary thing is we only have 2 bonifide central midfielders in the squad...Lucas and Mascherano.. and the really shocking thing is Lucas is the best we have to play the passing role at the club. He is all we have. Cannot state enough how massive Alonso's loss has been. We havent replaced him...and that void is huge. We completely lack control in midfield... a metronomic passer who dictates the tempo of the game, providing the link between the defence and attack... and gives us composure. Right now its a bag of nerves in the center of the field..theres no one to demand the ball off the defence hence the huge increase in hoofball this season.
We dont have the same control we had post Alonso... top priority remains trying to replace him.

Is it true that Aquaman is the player Carra was suggesting is not good enough for the club, in a recent interview ?
