Because city don't have someone to dictate the play from midfield , ireland , barry , de jong aren't really the type of players with xabi's vision and creativity . Look at their squad dept , its better than arsenal's and deffo better than our subs bench

To be fair with the money they have at their disposal that would have been an eventuality anyway. If he goes it will just be salt in the wound. They have a few trouble makers at the club now so it will be interesting to see how they get of.

These arabs are amazing eh? They put their money on teh table and teh greedy managers and agents spend it as quick as possible.

Its going to take Citech at least 2 seasons to gel plus one manager and 3-5 more quality players.

Lets hope it ends in tears.

Maybe but you can never predict these things in football Reg. And even come those 2 season we will still probably have twit and :censored: in charge so I don't see what we will be doing different then.

it always does mate, Chelsea have done it and everytime it turns to sh!t they think sacking the manager is the option. With the amounts spent, comes expectation and too much pressure to do well. Newcastle were doing well and when they went slightly off the rails they sacked the manager and kept doing so, thinking they had automatic right to be around the top four and look where they are now. Chelsea will never get relegated with the amount of money there but the success being demanded means there's little chance for stability. I reckon City are going in the same direction

Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing

We need to just worry about what we are doing and right now with the owners who knows. But I am just thankful City haven't got a decent manager right now.

Has anyone said that Barry is better than Alonso? From what I have read of this thread most people thought that Barry would have been a good replacement, or would have brought perhaps more of an attacking quality to the midfield , I can't RECALL MANY SAYING BARRY WAS BETTER? Even before last season when Alonso hadn't been playing as well, few thought that Barry was better.(apart from maybe Rafa  :D )

My own view is that Barry is a lot better than a few on here think, that doesn't mean I think he is better than Alonso........ just a lot better than some are willing to credit him.

I know, mate.  It was a joke based on the fact that the Barry/Alonso comparison generates such fireworks on here.  It wasn't a dig at those who think Barry would have been a good signing.

think it quite amazing how quickly people are writing of hughes - the guy is still learning to be a manager - did very well with both wales and blackburn
