This is a truly incredible post, unbelieveable. The idea that the result of one tie definitively decides who is a better manager, is even by the standards of this forum over the last two days absolutely astounding.

If Inter didn't get though the group stages of the Champoions League and knocked us out of the Europa Cup, what type of ersehole would say "well that proves once and for all that Mourinho is better". It's the most ridiculous, childish and purile nonsense I've read on here in a long time.

What decides who is a better manager, or a better player, is not one shot into the top corner from 30 yards, or one tie victoriously negotiated, it's an accumulation of achievements over a period of time. Cameron Jerome didn't immediately become superior to Torres because he scored from 30 yards at Anfield, and Mourinho didn't prove himself superior to rafa by winning the League Cup final.

I can't believe I even waste my time discussing football with you Lando, it is utterly pointless. I must try my best to not even bother in future, it's high time I found something better to do with my spare time, I definately agree with you on that score.

People are fond of quoting Rafa's win percentage to prove just what a good manager he is, here is Mourinho's in the prem ...... just for comparison.

Mourinho played 185 games won 131 win percentage 70%
Rafa played 315 games won 178 win percentage 56%

Yeh, but then again Rafa stayed more than Mourinho in a premiership club, it would be interesting to see the same game to win ratio, so this stat doesn't prove anything s@int mate.

S@ints stats don't prove anything on this occasion obviously because they are b0ll0cks, and that is the point. Mourinho's win percentage is higher because he had a better team, simple. Similarly, Rafa's win percentage is higher than Gary Megson (I haven't checked it up, but I'm fairly sure I'm right) because we are a better team than Bolton. On their own though, the win percentage stats don't mean anything. Each manager is working with a different set of tools, trying to extract the maximum out of a different set of circumstances. The best get the maximum out of what they've got, the very good get quite a bit out of what they've got, the rest get the sack.

Win percentages don't mean anything in our situation. We are a big club and we ought to be challenging for and occasionally winning trophies, simple as that.

Rafa Benitez in his career has been manager for 630 games, won 322, win percentage 51%

Ged Houllier in his career has been manager for 629 games,won 322, win percentage 51%

would i want him as liverpool manager?

there is 2 sides to this argument, do i think we would win trophies under mourinho...yes i do, without a doubt.

would we win the prem under mourinho - possibly

so based on this he would be great for us..but....

so would i want him as manager? , not a chance in hell the guy is a :censored:

, and i'd rather poke out my own balls, after that shushing incident and the total dis respect he had for liverpool, the constant whinging about the goal that apparently never was i'd like to think liverpools fans are not that fickle.
