There is a lot of criticism towards the manager but what about the players? That was a decent line up tonight and it was hard to find one player who shone through. Regardless of the Fiorentina result and whether or not they heard the result, the players should have pulled their finger out of their backside and show some form of committment to the club. But no, another half-@ssed performance because as they know, it will be rafa to get it in the neck. Nobody was played out of position, nobody was asked to play a role they are not familiar with, and yet they performed as if they just couldnt wait to get home.

Blame rafa's tactics by all means (aquilani for one) but also have a good look at the players.

I agree mate, it was almost as if they were just going through the motions rather than trying to get us back on track.

Souness once accused his players of trying to get him the sack with a performance not much worse than that one.

The players can only play with the constraints that the manager has placed upon them.

Liverpool tonight played very deep in their own half, with a single striker!!!!!!! who was left abandoned time and again against a side that had 10 men in the box at times.

They're deflated. They're worn out. The club is in freefall and there's no sign of improvement...AND they're looking at the manager make ridiculous decisions on a constant basis.

It's hardly surprising they've no umph in games.

I'm beginning to think that they think that Beitez actually doesn't have a clue what he's up to.

Liverpool v Man United.

Replace Torres with N'gog, then compare the performance. That team was good enough to comfortably beat united and yet struggle against debrecen. Is this rafas attitude at fault here? or the players?

Constraints that the manager has placed upon them? last night the only constraint was, your without torres.

Different games, its ok to play that sort of line up against united as the two centre midfielders can break things up and generally stop them playing.

Against a team like debrecen we should be far more positive.
One striker, a left back on the left of midfield, two holding midfielders and an out of form and shattered look Dirk ?

That is bound to lead to a lack of options when in posession and a disjointed performance.
Nowhere near good enough.

The fact that there was no other striker on the bench when Rafa said that Ngog was tired after the city game is even more of a joke.
Why not get one of the youn kids on the bench and give them a go rather than the usual bringing off a striker for a midfielder on a game where we needed goals ?

If Lyon would have equalised last minute we would have still needed a miracle against Fiorentina due to last nights woeful performance.

As fans, what will your attitudes be towards the Europa League now? At the end of the day it's a trophy and we need to win something.

As for people who slag the competition off, all of Ajax, Anderlecht, Valencia, Hamburg, Sporting Lisbon, Roma, Galatasaray, Villarreal, Fenerbahce, Benfica, PSV Eindhoven and Werder Bremen are in it.

The last time we won it we beat Barcelona, Porto, Roma and Olympiakos.

I'd love to win the competition personally.

Yeah it'd be great to get a trophy, but at what cost though.  As you have pointed out, there are some very good teams in there.  It'll be a big ask to be able to put a good side out on Thursdays and attempt to make a push to remain in the top 4.

Remaining in the top four right now has got to be the priority for the club.  Without Champion's League money, well it's just too scary to think of where we'll end up.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.
