DEBRECEN VS LIVERPOOL - Time to do a "bermenstein"

Liverpool Football Club - Games

We have surpassed ourselves yet again out of the lot (bar fa cup) by November, cheers boys! God only hopes we get that 4th spot, spurs win again and we mess up Sunday then were 8 adrift from 4th!! Maybe we should get Spearing sitting in Masch and Lucas to shore it up a bit, don't bother with a striker just pack the midfield!!!  :O

Sky F****** Sports with there cameras fixated on Gerrard, all made to make bigger stories and put more pressure on us, if I was there and that camera was on me I would of picked it up and lashed it across the F****** room, Did they have their cameras on the Mancs when they crashed out in the group stages a few seasons back?.Of course they didn't.

Nan, truth be told, I couldn't give a bell-end when it is. No interest in it. Even hearing Martin Keown on tv over here saying "Liverpool HAVE to win the Europe Cup to salvage soething from their season..." nearly made me puke....

Bad result tonight but how will we feel IF in 6 months time we win the Europa Cup Final. We'll forget about this and be out celebrating like the we were 4 years ago.  We basically have a good squad, get everyone fully fit including Gerrard who I don't think is 100% and who knows what will happen. Get a good run of results over the Christmas period and we can build on that. How often in the past have Liverpool had a poor run of form up to the New Year but kicked on after that and put a run together. All cubs go through a bad patch and chelski, manure and :censored: nal will liose players to the African cup.
Keep the faith but get rid of the yanks. They're not interested in the Football Club it's a business to them.

My last word on it ..... hopefully.

So you would prefer it if the ex players didn't give their honest opinion, but just lied and said everything in the garden is rosy?

To be fair Saint, Whelan is in all honesty a complete pain in the hoop to listen to. Unfortunately he's one of the panelists on Irish TV and he's always in his element when Liverpool play. The only time I've seen him compliment us in recent times was - surprise! surprise! - after the Manure game. Every other time he rips us - and Rafa in particular - apart.

You'd have to say, and I agree in fact - we have regressed so much this season in TWO MONTHS, it is thoroughly depressing. No Aquilani on tonight, for example. Dossena on instead ? What the fook is he keeping Aquilani for - a baptism in the bleedin' Merseyside derby ?? FFS, what planet is the man on ?

I can't say I have seen (or heard ) much from Whelan, but as an ex captain of Liverpool I would think he is trying to say it as it is. (ignoring the fact he always wanted to play for the mancs)

All I expect or hope for from "pundits" is an honest opinion whether it be in support of the manager or not. They played for LIVERPOOL FC not for Rafa, they owe Liverpool a lot , they owe Rafa nothing.

Saint just because he played for us does not mean to say he can carry on like a tw@t. I used to love watching him play, but the bloke is an absolute turd burgular!

That's true mate. And I think most of his criticism of Rafa is because of the negative, cautious, holding play he encourages, and the fact that the players he has bough and currently has at his disposal (Dossena, Babel, Lucas, Voronin etc.) are simplay nowhere fookin' NEAR the calibre of player who played for us in Whelan's time. He regularly harks back to the likes of Souness, Hansen, and others....and you'd have to say the current crop are not a patch on the players of long ago, the odd exception aside.

Ronnie Whelan is calling it as he sees it. Just because it jars with some that have their heads stuck in sand doesn't mean shit.

I prefer an honest assessment rather than some ra ra rafa nonsense.

But slating the manager is also slating the club mate .

As i said they know we are in a poor run of form but they do nothing but stick the knife in when if they want whats good for the club then they should be positive and encourage .

Whelan even when we were playing well would still slate rafa .

Daft post !
Why not slate the manager if he deserves it ? That's got nuthin' to do with slating the club. Arguably, it's constructive, so long as there's a valid and logical reason for criticising the manager, his tactics, his signings.....why not ?
Most of the time, from the comments I've heard from Whelan, he's more often right than not. And I also think it's conceivable that Aldridge and McAteer won't be as upfront in their criticisms 'cos they're blinded to the truth...

Oh stop talking bollocks you. You may have changed your name, but you still yap the smae old shite.

Fuck Benitez. He ONLY part of the equation (and a weak part at that)...he isn't the whole show. He probably won't be here in a years times time anyway, but Liverpool FC will still go on.

Benitez is ONLY a manager and manager's like players come and go.
