Give it to lucas myself , thought he was brilliant . No LFC player should have to put up with the :censored: he has (apart from Vorinin, that is) . Stood up to be counted on Sunday against one of the supposed best teams in europe . Passing was excellent again , and inparticular , the set up for Kuyt and eggnogg . Good lad .
UP THE PURPS !!!

United are masking over the fact they miss Tevez and Ronniehomo, this was always going to be the season for us to pounce on them and win the league and what a freakin' shame we screwed up those previous games when as we showed we have the taking of United. We must move forward and win every remaining game.

United will lose more games from here on in than we will, mark my words.

I'll pick Benayoun myself, in a game in which I was satisfied with everyone and certainly Lucas did a good game.

IMHO the quality of his pass was better than the quality of the pass of Lucas, and the first goal was more critical and important than the second, which was a bonus.

Rafa picked Benayoun to lose time in the extra time and gift the player with an Anfield ovation, and I'll pick him too as man of the match.

What Torres did was spectacular needless to say, and with problems in his muscles, but that's a bit what we expect of him. But Benayoun is a player that normally doesn't get the praises and he deserves it this time for doing such a quality action in the second half.

Benayoun, then.

For me it has to be Benni, the quiet man of the game. He ran circles around Mwanck U, and i'm sure he'll continue the in the same vain throughout the season.

I picked Carra because of how he performed and the way he answered his critics with his display. I can understand people picking Lucas for the same reasons. Hopefully he will build on this and get some consistency so we can start seeing what Rafa sees in him

"sh!te".
You obviouly know fk all, was he sh!t yesturday? Or any of the other huge games in he`s played and won?
But yeah you probably know more than Rafa,Dunga and anyone else who has ever played him. Even the pundits who slate us constantly wouldnt call him :censored:.
But he doesnt blast then in from 30 yards, pass like one of the best in the game or be a show pony like Ronaldo (whos poster you probably have on your wall).
What ever your opinion he is a good player and I`m sure even ferguson would admit that after putting Scholes on his ar$e 5 times and whos run and pass finished them off.
If he can mix it and come out top against the best europe has to offer how can he (in form) be anything less than a quality player, and at just 22.
Its posters lke you that ruin this forum posting :censored: like that, for no other reason than to p!ss peole off.
He standing in for an injured player, in a different system and offen next to an underperforming partner and a shakey defence.
Is discussion beyond your tiny brain, can all your single brain cell muster is a one line insult with no explanation?
Why dont you just fk off!

So what did Lucas do that was so good? what I saw was him loosing the ball countless times and giving away a shedload of freekicks. I just don't get Lucas, for me he does nothing defensively and very little attacking. Maybe I've just got a blindspot where he is concerned but I thought he was one of our worst players on Sunday, not that any of our players had a terrible game, by his standards he probably had a fairly good game.

I voted Bennayoun, him, Agger and Carra really made the difference on Sunday, Mascha also had a good game and of course the goal from Nando was a beauty.

What game was you watching, he had the best pass completion on the park, including a great run and pass for the second.
Then to his tacling, he gave the mancs no time on the ball, I remember him puting scholes on his ar$e a few times and thats not to mention his successful tackle rate is second in the league so he must be doing something right.
FFS credit where its due, but for you moaning haters if he`s not Kaka he`s :censored:. He`s 22  playing in a completely different style to the one he was brought up in and its not even as if he is a first choise.
You just show your self up and your lack of knowledge for the game, by having a go at a lad giving his all.
If he`s so sh!t how did we win? How did we stuff em last year? and chelsea and the big CL games he`s played?

Mate, I wouldn't even waste my time arguing. Seriously.

I went with Benayoun the guy is just a great footballer and on Sunday he shone like never before. Given more freedom he excelled. I did post about Lucas when things were all cocked up on the boards saying in essence he had his best game for us but Man of the Match goes to the little Israeli, the pass to set up Torres was simply sublime!

I chose Lucas due to his industry and commitment as I thought he was most influential in laying the foundations for what happened on the field. He tackled, carried the ball and made good passes. I thought all did their job well but especially Yossi (my close second for MOM) who was the creative spark that was going to win us the game but Lucas helped the balance and bossed the midfield. I agree that it was great to see Agger back and he was a calming influence at the back, but when you own the midfield it makes the defence look better.

Jamie did get the ball on his tackle on Carrick but if I was the manager I certainly would not want him charging in so fast as he was so committed that a craftier player would have just touched the ball before the tackle and won a penalty for sure. A little too much committment if you ask me as that could have changed the game. Jamie however has always been more about passion than guile, so since it was not a penalty, happy days.

Agger appears to be an unsung hero from Sundays game.He had a huge calming effect on proceedings and it's great to seem him back.

Thats why i went for Agger , outstanding game , positional play was unbelievable, i just hope he stays injury free as you said just brings that bit of calmness to the back four, no panic balls, puts his foot on it an plays it . ive waited a long time for a player of his potential ability to dorn our back four again, Made up for the lad,

I went for Carragher on two accounts :

1. He's taken a lot of stick recently and I thought he was superb, particularly in that short spell after Torres's goal when they came at us.

2. I'm predictable and think the lad can do no wrong ! :D

However..............I'm now changed my mind !  If we are looking to give the MOM to someone who has taken a lot of stick recently there can be only ONE candidate ....Rafa ! :p

Carraguer showed experience all over the park I have to say. I remember for instance in half time how the Man Utd players surrounded the ref in a classical tactic of them. Carra appeared there the first one and shielded the ref while he deflected the mancs. Besides the football, Carra put that intensity and experience that cannot be measured in stats, but certainly are important in games like that.
