Ive trained for the last 21 weeks for it and im starting to get really nervous about it. I taken all the advise I could find on board and have been carb loading all this week, i just hope it all goes well on Monday and i dont break down.

Been in the Beirut Marathon, don't drink alot of water while your running, just some drops cause you will get those cramps, and if you can just spray some water on your face every 20 minutes or so it helps

Another thing, just enjoy it, don't exert yourself too much.

The end was very very hard, you just have to switch off and dont listen to the pain. Your body is creaming at you to stop and your legs are on fire but with all the support on the streets it helps you. When I got over the finish line it was hard to walk but it was worth it when you get your medal and your official time

now that the mornings are a little less rainy, and now that my stupidly busy last 6 months is coming to an end, i'm actually considering going for a gentle run along the beach and back to start the day 2 or 3 times a week. if i get sufficiently hardcore i'll join the gang of old aged loons that go for a swim every single day of the year, whatever the weather.

its a nice beach for a city. about 3.5k there and back.

i used to be really active and really fit years back from my early twenties to early thirties. i spent 18 months training as a trapeze artist (seriously :D) for which the exercises are seriously hardcore, trained pretty intensively at capoeira, a little martial arts now and again, plus plenty of cycling. i still do sessions of sit ups, chin ups and press ups about 3 times a week but i miss that feeling and buzz of aerobic fitness. i'm 42 now and need to get back into it before its too late!!

I'm swimming mate, 5,00m twice a week and 7,000m on a saturday.  7,000 in 2:35. My knees are finished, I cant run anymore.

can't f*cking do the marathon, I usually do the 1 mile run in under 7 minutes and thats about it :D

We have the Beirut marathon every year and I have a friend who did it in 3 hrs 30 minutes. He couldn't go out the next day :D

I just like playing footy twice a week and all  :nod
