Baros is a quality striker but his overall team play dissappoints me at times . Its still early days though and as with Cisse by Christmas well see a much improved player. He has great finishing and predatory instincts i'd just like to see some more intelligent runs from him :blues:

Classic Baros Goal.
As forecast, coming from a cameo apperance as sub, when the defenders are knackered, Baros is the man to administer the killer dagger !!

It might be appear to be a harsh comment, but that's his strength. In a 90 minute game, he wastes too much energy head-down, charging at brick walls. But bring him on when the defence is weakening and let him deliver the stilleto to the jugular !!
David Fairclough was happy to adopt the Super-Sub Role and has made a good living from the noteriety. :blues:

But Baros wasnt sub for the Czechs during euro 2004.He had confidence in his place in the team and he went out and produced the goods.I just wish he was allowed to do the same in a Liverpool shirt.

Well said Greenred.

Baros is a class act and despite having been at the club for a few years now has never been given the run in the team he deserves.

As for gimps like stu slagging him off its obvious he just doesnt know class when he sees it.

Only have to look at Cisse's performance tonight as it was terrible but yet nobody least of all stu would ever say that.

The goal was laid on a plate for him and he should have been buzzing with confidence after that but yet he was caught offside countless times like a headless chicken.

When Garcia played him in his 1st touch was shockingly bad and he did very little in the 2nd half except miss a glorious chance.

I am not slagging Cisse as a player just his performance tonight.

By the way I have nothing against Cisse as I think he will become everything that lump heskey wasn't.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

Evaluating a players ability doesn't always have to be interpretated as critisicm. Baros is a quality player and has proved at international level to be a potent force playing in a very talented Czech side and alongside a freak of nature :D

Tonight might not be the best time to say this after he's come on as sub and sealed a valuable vitory for LFC but how many of us fans watching would have been truly amazed if he had missed ? Fact is he needs a lot of chances before putting the ball in the net. Does that make him a bad player ? NO Does it make him a greedy player ? Probably. But as i've said in a previous post if he stuck themn away as regulalry as former "greedy" players like Rush, Owen and Fowler we wouldn;t be here debating his value to Liverpool FC .

There is nothing wrong in being greedy as long as you tuck in a great majority of the chances that comes your way. I don't think Baros' "greed" is the problem, more like his awareness is rather lacking. Also, he is a bit of a lightweight when it comes to battling the physical EPL defenders. I think we have not utilised him mostly to his strengths and a different service is required to get the best out of him - the long ball hoof and chase Owen-esque approach clearly does not work for him. perhaps he needs a strong partner to deal with the physical threat of the defenders just like how Koller works with him but we do not have that kind of player in our squad.

Baros definitely need to improve his awareness.

i dont really get what you're sayin.
are you sayin that baros' chance was easy?
were you watchin the same goal as me? he made that chance purely by himself. this is his quality, thats what he'll always do.
and how the f*** can you go on about how regularly he scores, comparing him to rush, owen etc.  he hasnt even nearly had the chance they've had in a reds shirt. and when he has had the chance he f***** scores.
i'm happy with him bein greedy or not as aware as long as he bangs them in, which it looks like he will do. his qualities more than make up for his mistakes.
its not the chilli sauce on kebabs that give you ring-sting, its the actual meat. had one without chilli, and still had ring-sting. the chilli's only there to mask the nonsense they stuff inside that bread.

They rate him higher over Nedved, sounds silly, but they have their own method in rating players.

Calm down Jim , adding a  few expletives doesn't strengthen your argument mate :p

My point about Baros is that he plays in a  stronger side at international level (Czech Republic) than he does at club level and the games different in the Prem. Like yourself no doubt, I have watched his games for LFC throughout his time here and I have made the observation that he needs afair few chances before putting one away. Is that a crime ? ???

In the final anlysis we have been spoilt over the years at Liverpool with some world class top strikers, Whether Baros joins that illustrious list remains to be seen.
