20 million is a hell of a gamble if we're not sure, I would have thought after the Keane affair Rafa wouldnt want to go down that route again.

It's a big gamble yes, and it's not Parry's this time  :D

I don't like it. Spending that much in a position that we have Gerrard. I guess this will be a step to play more attackingly with Mascherano playing as a lone holding midfielder rather than a double one.

I would have done the gamble for the right and bring just a "Riera" for the midfield, a good player.

anyone know yet if its pounds or euro`s, not got a good feeling about this one at all, where even signing him whilst he`s injured :( . massive gamble and one i dont think we needed to take, yes there is no doubting the guy has talent but if he cant stay fit playing in italy i cant see him lasting in the prem.

can still remember houllier fooking it up the last time we finished second and didnt push on.

I saw it was £18 Million

Rafa has spent a lot of money on this guy and I have good faith that he's made the right choice.

Benitez plans triple raid - The Independent
Liverpool will use £17 million of the £30m they have raised from the sale of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid to sign Alberto Aquilani, the Roma midfielder. Officials at Anfield also plan to meet with Valencia this week to discuss a deal for David Silva, while a second offer for Sylvain Distin also remains a possibility.

The first part of the prediction came true ...... any chance of the others ?

Saw Valencia in a preseason game with ManU. Silva simply oozed class; he seemed a cut above everybody...If we sign this man, we'll win the league!! :eyebrow
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

saw a youtude compilation of our new Aqua man.

He loves to play one touch football in the final third, we may miss Alonso's magical 40 yards passes but we will have someone who can pass well in the final 3rd.
He is more attack minded than Alonso, younger and if he can keep fit, he will be the one who can help us with those 0-0 situation.
Cant wait to see him play. :D

Do we really want Distin? Nearing 32, is he better or that much better than Agger and Skrtel who are SEVEN years younger? Seems a pointless move to me, I'd rather spend a bit of money on a talented young CB or bring one through the ranks - the former a preferred option because of transfer windows and injury possibilities.

If we sign Aquilani will we be able to afford Silva? I'd have liked to have seen how our title bid went with Johnson signed, maybe a LWF and ALONSO still in the side but that ain't gonna happen now.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
