that depends very much on the system you are made to play to .... look at how torres's scoring record drastically improved once he came to Anfield.

Not to mention the lad played in Serie A aswell

a high scoring game is 2-1

Yeah as opposed to you resorting to name calling.

In the corresponding match last pre-season Rafa started with his first team and then subbed them out gradually, that led to a much faster paced game and much better workout for the team i.e fitness! It has nothing to do with who I would have liked to see, I see the players at Anfield in proper matches but I do feel bad for the fans who wanted to see a Liverpool display, i.e good passing, nice touches and good goals, what they got was something akin to a third division match and that is a big disappointment for them as hopefully you can appreciate. No one is expecting a champions league final but you do expect a bit of style and class when Liverpool come to town.
A pre season game with only 1 weak before the start of the season should feature your first team to a very high degree.

Well I'm not expecting the first XI to play the whole game but at least start with your first XI and give the fans some value for money, the tickets were £70 a pop ffs!!!

Seriously now, if you had paid that for your one chance to see Liverpool play would you have been happy with the effort they were putting in? They were being bossed in the first half ffs and by the team fighting against relegation in the Norwegian league, it's a joke and not exactly inspiring.

Very dissapointed with Nando, he looked liek he could not give a feck and was just walking around, at least Riera, Benny, Kuyt and Stevie put on a bit of a show.

Also Spearing has fallen in my estimation, he was very poor today and as for Lucas and wash, well don't get me started.

Stop! You're hurting me!

have we been drinking too much of the pontin or something my Irish chum, are you not able to formulate  a sentence any more, what is it that you disagree with exactly?

Or just insult me again, it's easier isn't it?  :no

well didnt most of the fit first team players have some sort of run out ?!?

To be honest dont care about their disappointment - im more concerned in making sure our best players are fit and ready to go for the spurs match and we took a hit tonigth with reira getting injured

Let me ask you this question - what would you of said if he started torres and torres got injured with a hamstring or something else because he took the match serious ?

Now if I were on the potcheen, do you think I'd be on here? No, no! I'd most likely be out and about or hanging out of some fat bird...that's if I did them of course...which I don't.

It's the second to last preseason game GYBS so I would have expected Rafa to start with a first XI team, that's what he did last time he played in Norway. The result was a far more exciting game that the tedium and apathy I just witnessed.

I'd love to see you try and play a match after even half of one of the training seasons Rafa puts these boys through. These games serve as nothing more than a bit of competitive match ready fitness. There's a reason why we are playing wee small teams. It both helps them get a bit of coin and TV coverage and the fact that they can say they played with the likes of Gerrard and Torres to their grandkids, and the fact that it makes it somewhat easier on the players after going through the real fitness test with the day's training seasons, seasons of which Rafa has down to an absolute science preparing for the real games to come. Did you notice the yellow badges the people in the crowd were wearing? RTK badges, which means some of that money will be going to charity. It's a win win situation for everyone and just a day out for the fans to see their players on the pitch. Would you prefere if the likes of Torres and Gerrard went at it full pelt and tore a hamstring? Don't be daft.

Not talking about full pelt Emerald but show off a little bit maybe, a few tricks and yes put some more effort in, they're only playing for 20 minutes so hopefully they aren't that knackered. The biggest puzzle for me was why we didn't start with the first XI and then sub them out, that was just a bit weird from my point of view and led to a very ponderous and boring match.

Anyway we now have just one game left to get into gear before the season so lets pray for a miracle otherwise Spurs will rip us a new one on the first day.

BTW Thanks for the adult response.

I would have said dammit that was unlucky Torres got injured in pre season just like Riera, but it was good to see him puttin gin the effort. Nice to know you have so much compassion for your fellow reds fans GYBS, shows what a classy guy you are.  :no

that just about sums you up - we loose the best striker in the world for a couple of months just before a new season and you say - oh well he put the effort in to please us norwegian fans . there is a bigger picture than some friendly in norway - thank christ our manager and players realise this . maybe you should as well.

I will just be happy if we get to the start of the season with everyone fit (except Aurelio and Aquilani who we know are injured). I hope that last sentance doesn't become a recurring theme.
