Correct. But I wouldn't say their roles are identical.

Do you know Prieto GYBS?  :D

He's doing fine. He now has 3 children, runs a coffee shop in Seville and is happily married to his own wife.  :D

He's doing fine, and he has rejected many primera division offers for loyalty (unlike others), but if RS doesn't promote this year I don't think he'll stay any longer, he's done enough for the club already.

I'd like some of you would watch him playing to know what do you think.

Distin anything more than 3 million , no thank you , he'll only be used as cover and we don't need to be spending big on a 4th choice centre back

exactly. I think we only NEEDED Hyypia once or twice last season, and that was in a season where we saw both Skrtel and Agger have injury problems.  I think while its possible that the same level of injury problems COULD be seen again, I would find it unlikely that we would see the problem get worse.  If we keep Arbeloa, then we could chose between him and Johnson or one of the youngsters in emergency situations.

all that said, it would be a nice luxury to not have to worry at all when one of the 3 is out to hope that a 2nd one doesn't get injured at the same time. so i think it would make sense to look at another cb, as long as it is on OUR terms and not after winning a bidding war.

Skrtel looks set to miss the start of the season with a hamstring problem so perhaps rafa is worried if agger or carragher pick up injuries along the way . I don't think he's confident on keeping arbeloa

not sure how true this one is but i liked crouch, got to ask though would he really want to come back here??

what do you think?

Liverpool have emerged as shock contenders to take Peter Crouch back to Anfield in a £12m deal.

The England hitman was thought to be heading to Tottenham after he spurned Sunderland approaches.

But Kop boss Rafa Benitez has the 28-year-old striker on his radar and has asked to be kept informed with Liverpool currently on tour in Thailand. Spurs and Fulham had looked set to fight it out for the 6ft 7in star with Portsmouth boss Paul Hart resigned to losing him.

But Liverpool’s emergence in the race is a surprise – the striker spent three years at the the club before Benitez sold him to Pompey in an £11m deal last year.

However, with Andriy Voronin heading for the exit door, Benitez would welcome Crouch back to the fold.

Benitez is also ready to go head-to-head with old adversary Martin O’Neill in a fight to land French international defender Sylvain Distin from Pompey.

Aston Villa boss O’Neill and Benitez are hardly best of chums after their protracted fall out over Liverpool’s attempts to prise Gareth Barry away before the player opted for an £18m switch to Manchester City.

O’Neill has already had a £2.5m offer laughed out of court by Portsmouth – and Benitez  is vowing to match any offer they make to get his man.

And its the old moving gerrard away from a position where he is one of the best in the world - we bought an extra striker last season and moved gerrard back and lost half his game - moved him back to behind torres - look what happened - im sorry for me 4-4-2 for majoirty is now dead in the water
