Really?  At least with a boy I wouldn't need to be as worried about the high school years, girls are always trying to be bad those 4 years.  Need to kill every guy that looks at her :D

Sorry for disrupting the frivolities on here but a few pages back some people were talking about the need for a back up striker for Torres.

This sounds a little crazy yet cost effective but why not just use Nemeth or Dalle Valle? Sure they're young and inexperienced but how do you think the likes of Fowler, Owen etc. got on? I'll tell you what as well, of all the positions I would be prepared to take a risk with in terms of youth players striker is most certainly the less critical in terms of conceding at least.

You should check out Dalle Valles goal record last season... 20 in 28 games....wow

If we are going to go for youth , i'd rather we go for marcus berg , young and looks like a good player , can dribble , has some pace and is a good finisher , last i heard fulham and hamburg we going for him and i'm sure we can match whatever bid they are going to

I like how he's different from the Average footballer.. has a small wedding, isnt cocky, seems like a quiet down to earth guy and doesnt have a page 3 slapper as his lass. And of course he chose to join this club and didnt follow his wallet.

No its true

LIVERPOOL boss Rafa Benitez has revealed that his club have turned down three huge offers of around £60million for star striker Fernando Torres, from Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Benitez, who is also trying to fend off interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona for Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano, insists that Torres is not for sale at any price.

He admitted: “This summer we have said no to some very, very big offers.

“We always wanted to keep Torres and people knew he wanted to stay, but that doesn’t stop them trying.”

Sunday Express Sport exclusively broke the story in June that Manchester United were ready with an unlikely move for Torres.

Now we can reveal that there have been approaches from Chelsea and Manchester City as well.

In rebuffing the massive offers for Torres, who joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid for £20m two years ago, Benitez hopes to send out the message that last season’s Premier League runners up mean business again this season.

The Spaniard added: “Football has changed. There is big money around but for us, it is vital to maintain the spine of the team.”

They can all fuck away off.

If true what the hell are United doing bidding for Torres? Imagine that transfer were to take place. Just imagine it for a min, there would be out and out war between the fans. The cheek of United, it would be like us putting in a bid for Rooney!!!

Luckily Torres seems to have his head screwed on and isnt all about money money money!

Exactly Dunalk, I remember when Torres was asked about City or something to that effect and he said something along the lines of he gets paid enough to do what he does and anymore would just be greedy

The lad well and truly is top drawer and I bet he's going to be one of those players I'll be telling my kids about. Hes gonna be a legend and I believe he's destined to bring us the title

Cheeky manc t w a ts obviously they got :censored: off with the knock back and ended up getting Owen.

I think Rafa needs some real praise for once cos everyone is after our players and even tho you could say maybe it's cos our financial situation I think it's more because we hold the best players in those position in European football.

AMEN

Rafa Benitez: Liverpool have turned down four bids for Fernando Torres -

Exclusive  By Simon Mullock 12/07/2009

Liverpool have rejected FOUR mega-money bids for Fernando Torres after manager Rafa Benitez ruled the Spanish striker was not for sale at any price.

Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City all made it clear they would pay £60million for Torres after being encouraged by the lack of transfer cash available at Anfield.

But Kop boss Rafa Benitez was told by Liverpool's struggling American owners that they would leave the decision to him - and his answer was that Torres was untouchable.

After seeing Sir Alex Fer-gusocash in on Cristiano Ronaldo for a world-record £80m just months after vowing never to do business with Real Madrid, Benitez felt compelled to keep hold of Liverpool's most prized asset.

In a revealing interview with Sunday Mirror Sport, Benitez admitted: "We have had some very big offers for some of our key players this summer - and that includes Fernando Torres.

"Clubs wanted Fernando and we were contacted by agents working for those clubs. But we always knew that when a bid came in we would say 'no.' "The main thing was that Torres wanted to stay here. People knew the player wanted to stay, but it did not stop clubs trying.

"Football has changed and there is big, big money around. But we still have the same idea to keep the spine of the team and work hard for next season.

"In football and life you cannot guarantee anything, that is a fact.

"I don't want to speak about United selling Ronaldo to Real Madrid because he is not my player and they are not my team.

"But what I will say is that we wanted to send out a message that Liverpool are a strong team and that we want to improve. You don't improve by selling your best players."

Torres, a £20m capture from Atletico Madrid two years ago, would not consider a return to his home city to play for a club he regarded as the enemy.

A move to Manchester would have been just as unlikely given United's status as Liverpool's bitter rivals and City's failure to tempt the club into selling the Spaniard twice last season.

Chelsea, though, have been strongly linked with Torres before and would have been favourites to land the striker if Benitez had sanctioned a sale.

Torres has been quick to dismiss reports that he is unsettled on Merseyside and would prefer to live in London.

The 25-year-old has been given extra time to recover from his Confederations Cup exertions - along with Xabi Alonso and Andrea Dossena.

All three will return to duty next week for the club's tour to Thailand and Singapore.

Torres' fitness will be monitored throughout the season and he has undergone specialist physical conditioning to ensure there is no repeat of the hamstring problems that hit him last season after playing at Euro 2008.

And Benitez admitted he didn't believe that competing with Manchester United for former Anfield favourite Michael Owen would have worked.

He said: "We had some contact about Owen and we were analysing the situation.

"But we have a World Cup coming up and the top players want to play every week.

"It would have been hard for Owen to play every week at Liverpool."
