Liverpool have made a bid for River Plate striker Radamel Falcao, according to reports.

It had been thought that the Columbian forward would join Benfica this summer, but Rafa Benitez is understood to have offered £3.5million for his services.

This is apparently slightly less than what Benfica have offered, but Liverpool's profile may be enough to seal the deal.

Falcao may want to play in the Premier League, despite Benfica and River Plate apparently agreeing most of the terms on a deal.

Falcao was linked to Manchester United and Arsenal last year and has played for the Columbian national side since 2007.

Although Falcao is a decent goal scorer, I would very much question his ability to play in England. For some reason I thought he was older, but he is still only 23, so he may be able to adapt. He seems strong enough, but I don't know if he could deal with the pace and just overall skill level. Certainly used to playing under the pressure of a big club though.

Fck that.. Lennon isnt good enough.. rafa seems to care more about getting this whole CL domestic players sht sorted than he does on actually adding the best there are to the club... We dont neeed a 30man squad of average players... might aswell sort out our starting 11 before we go around worrying about that..

Lennon is a interesting one , i'd say he has certainly improved a lot this season , his final ball has been better , he can certainly beat his man and he's got loads of pace. Difficult one with him , as you don;t know which lennon will turn up , on his day , he's one scary fecker to be playing against just ask evra. If the price is less than 10 million than it could be worth a shot , plus its another english player if the ridiculous 6+5 rule does come into effect

An dont know if anyone noticed but that Kaka took the number 8 shirt from Gago, that was hes number

Sorry Mist i should of said mate im talking about Madrid , there dead sneaky , they fecking no we want him an at first they were in for him an all , but they cooled a bit now there back with a fecking Vengance, :no
