Latest transfer rumor

Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Postby JamCar05 » Sat Jun 27, 2009 3:50 pm

Ah thanks mate, that was indeed the story I was thinking about. I wonder if he'd still cost 12 million euros now? Would be a good young backup for Torres me thinks. I heard a rumour a couple of days ago though that Ajax were supposed to be close to a deal with his club, whether there's any truth in it I don't know.

Shamelessly "borrowed" from a rumours site....

Some Liverpool news here. We have basically signed Glen Johnson, £18.5m with the £7m off the Crouch deal. Rafa has also said he has enough money to sign another big player WITHOUT SELLING. This tells me that a big player will be signed before and another one after sales. The player who we'll sign before the sales will be David Silva, it doesn't take a genius to work that out.

£21m is the fee. We'll also sign Stewart Downing for £5m due to his injury. Then we'll start to sell. Dossena (£7m), Arbeloa (£8m), Lucas (£6m), Riera (£12m), Plessis (£3m)Mascherano (£50m no swaps), El Zhar (£1m), Anderson (£1m) and Voronin (£4m)leaving.

This leaves us with another £132m to spend. With this we'll sign David Villa (£40m), who's keen to team up with his Spanish strike partner, Sergio Aguero (£25m +Benayoun), Micah Richards (£8m), Michael Johnson (£5m), Javi Martinez (£10m), Steven Defour (£8m) and Alvaro Negredo (P. Ex). I have forgot to mention that we are selling Xabi Alonso for £30m + Negredo.

All 100% true of course  :idea    :upside:    :wwww

welsh wizzard

Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their interest in Swedish striker Marcus Berg according to reports in Holland.

Rafa Benitez is set to add to his striking options this summer after letting Robbie Keane return to Tottenham in the winter transfer window and Berg is now the favourite to fill the void.

Berg has attracted the interest of Ajax and Fiorentina but is thought to favour a move to the Premiership with Dutch club Groningen willing to let their prize asset leave for around 12 million euros.

The Groningen striker scored 15 goals in 25 games in his debut season in the Dutch Eredivisie last year. The 22-year-old has impressed again this season with 17 goals in 30 games and this form has convinced Benitez to table an official offer with Groningen in an attempt to avoid a bidding war with other clubs.

Benitez has also been linked with moves for Luis Suarez of Ajax and Edin Džeko who currently plays for VfL Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga.

SSN showed highlights of the U21's and this guy is a stand out. Tall, strong and looks clinical. OK it's the U21's but this guy looks the business.

Scored 2 more goals against England U21 yesterday.

Berg dreams of move - Swedish youngster interested in move to big stage

Sweden Under 21 star and Groningen striker Marcus Berg has confessed he dreams about a move to England or Spain.

The forward impressed for the host nation in this summer's U21 European Championship before their campaign ended on Friday in a semi-final, penalty shoot-out defeat to England.

Berg scored seven goals in the competition, including two in the loss to England, to reportedly catch the eye of a number of clubs across the continent.

And the former Gothenburg player, who joined Dutch outfit Groningen in 2007, admits a move England or Spain, would appeal.

He told Expressen: "I like the Spanish league, it's fantastic. The English is also good.

"You don't know when it will happen, but that is what you are dreaming about."

Would a youngster like him be happy to come and sit on the bench, until Torres is injured ?? No chance....just an agent playing the media game, methinks.....

SSN saying Real reckon they're close to an agreement to a price where we will be willing to sell Xabi :(

looks like a good Centre Forward type of player... which is also a problem because he seems to have a similar game to Torres... not too sure if they can play together... but if his transfer fee and wages are cheap then why not...

The only price Rafa will be thinking of is 35Mil so they must be ready to stop farting around and finally pay up what he is worth.

He is a great player, but last season I think he was injured a lot. But during Maureens time there he was unstoppable.

Yeah he looks a clinical finisher. Not sure about the quoted price for him though and he would still be backup to Torres. Seeing that he is young so maybe it would be a good thing.

Its amazing what a good tournament will do for you , raises your price by 5 to 10 million at least , players such as diouf , diao , baros . Berg however looks on a different level compared to them

I'd really like Tuncay on a cheap here. Could well flourish like Yossi.
