Frey was once signed by Inter but had a very mixed spell there constantly getting loaned out - also retired from international football because he wasnt being picked . he is a decent shot stopper but overall not at the same standard of the top guys like buffon, casillas ,pepe and cesar

I'd throw Given in that list too, he's an amzing keeper, don't know why he stayed at Newcastle all those years.

From RAWK

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"from wat i know, we are making a package of 50 million plus Riera. the silva deal is already done at 22 million rising to 26 with add ons, the villa deal will be round 28 million along with Riera.

Problem is barca will be offering 30 million with bojan for villa."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Betting has gone from 40-1 for villa to join liverpool (on monday) to 16-1 (tuesday) and it was suspended at about 12pm, it's now back up at 8-1. Make of that what you will, someone knows something.

Villa grabbed the only goal of the match in the second-half against Iraq and was questioned afterwards about his future and if he was thinking about it.

"I only have one decision. My agent already knows what that is and he is working towards it. I am relaxed here," AS quote him as saying.

Asked whether there is any date by which he will resolve his future, Villa replied "I have no idea", before talking about the game this afternoon.

Yeah the person is around 12 and speaks in text language - cant understand a word of what that means .

But can you really see us getting both Villa and Silva for 50 mil plus Reira when Villa alone can go for 40 mil plus ?

This has got to be some manc/bitter on a wind up. I would eat my hand if that happened.

Aussiestyle  :D

Cahill to replace Yossi ?

Cahill is a good player, somehow i dont see him playing in wide positions and in the hole and unlocking defences with good dribbling or clever through balls etc.

This is a Joke , only keepers who would get ahead if reina are casillas and Buffon , don't start on cech who's not looked the same as his injury , flaps at crosses now .

mmm... Personally, i'd say that on last seasons performances, Julio Cesar and VanDerSar were the 2 best goalkeeps in the world.. overall though, i'd have Buffon, Casillas, Cech, J.Cesar,VDS, Frey, Given all as being better than Reina... Reina is on a different level to all of those when it comes to distribution but as a shot stopper and when it comes to dealing with crosses and coming out for the ball i think hes lacking a little... still a good plaayer though and shouldnt be selling really unless we have a suitable replacement lined up...

Does penalty saving come under shot stopping? I think shot stoppig is one of his strongest attributes along with reflexes. Coming out for corners he is a bit dodgey but so are most 'good' keepers. And VDS made plenty of errors last season, they just were not punished for them enough because they had so many players who could score.

in my opinion reina is right up there as one of the best keepers in the game. Crosses let him down, but all keepers have a fault.... We  should not be selling him.

Did his old man play for barca or real or have i made that up?

I think his old man played for Atletico. Actually he was running his mouth last year about how his son should go play for them and the Pepe said he was happy at Liverpool...

My thinking is if we are going to pay 17Mil for a RB then we are probably going to spend big for someone up front too....
