The guy who plays him is brilliant and depicts Bronson at his menacing best ,its a bit surreal in parts but the film is genuinely good

Not that one should only use IMDB as a source if info but looking at the average ratings based on real people folks it currently reads like this.

The Terminator- 8.1/10
Terminator 2: Judgment Day- 8.5
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - 6.7

Im not trying to say you should change your mind. Rather most people would disagree with you on this one.

One thing in particular I hated about the 3rd one was the amount of comedic moments/jokes. Thats why I never take this one seriously. Had Cameron done T3 then it might have been a whole lot better. The 3rd one was cheaply thrown together and written and you could tell it was rushed. They were just hurried along and expected tocash in of the Terminator franchise and it didn't work.

Also PS you should know T2 made it on the AFI's 10 Top 10 Sci Fi list at 8 where as 1 and 3 didnt even make it on.

there is a lot wrong with 3, but i think it stands up well, and in time people will see the greatness...
maybe i dont like T2 as much because it is so popular, and the original is definately better

as for JC making 3, he woulda ruined it... it was rushed, and it should have been so much better, but stahls charatcer when hes on his own is class, and the ending makes up for it, betetr than that arnie ending in 2... gimme a sick bucket for that one!

The original will always be special as it's....the original. Same goes for most sucessfull franchises.

Mostock tried to do the same with T3 as JC did with T2, non stop action but he couldn't pull it off as well. That's why it sucks so much. Anyway its not that bad, but its definaltey not on par with 1 or 2.

Finally got around to seeing Star Trek
As someone who isnt a trekkie but know enough  about the show's mythology to get movies in jokes.I found it to be a very enjoyable romp and I expect it will breath a new life into a rather tired franchise
Forever Red in this life and the next

Anyone seen the latest Underworld film? (Rise of the Lycans). I loved the first 2. I was surprised to see no Kate Beckinsale as in the book she is in this prequel.

I had to watch it a couple of times when it first came out for it to grow on me. I started off, not hating it, but not loving it either. Then I watched it again and thought, actually, its not that bad, then watched it again and realised. This is a great film. To enjoy this film fully, you have to acknowledge the myth. Once you get past that, the film becomes brilliant.

Terminator 2. The annoyance with this film has been mentioned, the terminator himself. For me, the annoyance is with the kid who played John Connor. Awful, just awful. Not just his performance, but the script written for him. One minute he is a tearaway with no care for the law robbing money from banks via a machine his mum gave him, the next hes a tart who doesnt like people being killed by a machine he controls. Lets be honest, if we were kids id take my bad boy terminator and blow away all the kids I hated at school as well as the teachers and go shopping getting myself a C64 or ZX spectrum +3 with the fancy disk player for sod all as im with my own terminator ! and still get all A+++ grades even though im never there !

And Linda Hamilton, my god. What an awful actress. One minute she is scared to death of a machine that will kill you and will not stop until you are dead. A couple of years in a nuthouse and now you know everything and physically able to deal with such a machine. She played the scared to death mother of a hero in the first one brilliantly, she doesnt convince as a i'll kick his bum hero in the second one.

The second one is worse than the first for many reasons, the acting, the script, the storyline. Why it was a big hit at the time was because of the effects. A lot of money was spent for the effects, to me, not a lot was invested in the acting.
Bill Shankly: “I was the best manager in Britain because I was never devious or cheated anyone. I’d break my wife’s legs if I played against her, but I’d never cheat her.”
