I thought the team were superb last night, we dominated Arsenal and truly deserved to win.  It was down to individual errors.  I dont know the reason for leaking goals to be honest and I hope Rafa fixes it while at the same time continuing with the attacks.  This is what we cam expect to see from a Rafa team but without the defensive errors, pace, teamwork, constant harrassing of the opposition.  I really think we have turned a big corner regardless of what happens this season, the team look like they have confidence in themselves and Rafa and look capable of going through the gears to win a game.

Since beating Madrid away we have clicked into some weird overdrive.  And last night the Arsenal chants of Hoof the ball seemed as distant and alien as the old 1-0 to the Rsenal chants of the late eighties/nineties.

We're playing the best attacking football in the premiership... just need to work a bit on the defence side but im loving the direction we're going.

Benayoun is as good as anyone at the moment (the last goal last night took skill, he has it), kuyt will run non stop and Torres is the best striker in the world.

4-4 equals our highest aggregate in any Premiership match, not in all our league games ever though because we won 9-0 against palace off the top of my head and I bet that isnt close to a club record

Liverpool Highest Premiership Aggregates

8 goals

W7-1 vs Southampton (16/01/99)
W6-2 vs Tottenham (08/05/93)
D4-4 vs Arsenal (21/04/09)

7 goals

W6-1 vs Crystal Palace (20/08/94)
W4-3 vs Newcastle (03/04/96)
W4-3 vs Newcastle (10/03/97)
W4-3 vs Blackburn (08/05/02)
L3-4 vs Leeds Utd (04/11/00)

6 goals

26 instances including our heaviest defeat (L1-5) and three 2-4 defeats.

So last night was the one and only time in the Premiership we've scored four goals and not won, nine times have we scored three or more and not won - remarkably we've played in SEVEN 3-3 draws. We need to score only nine more goals to have a new Premiership record goals scored (for us anyway), the mancs managed 97 in 99/00. Our overall top flight club record is 92 goals when we won the league in 1963/64 (42 games) Remarkably our top flight club record for goals scored in 38 games is only 79 set back in 1905/06 (when we won the league)

Most Liverpool Goals In A 38 Game Top Flight Season

79 : 1905/06 (Champions) F79 A46
78 : 1909/10 (Runners-Up) F78 A57
78 : 1989/90 (Champions) F78 A37
77 : 1990/91 (Runners-Up) F77 A40
71 : 2000/01 (3rd Place) F71 A39
70 : 1995/96 (3rd Place) F70 A34

As much as i love this attacking edge we are delivering i would prefer the casual set up and win games comfortably 1-0,2-0!  We had to attack and given we were 1-0 down we had no choice and try to get back in this game. I presume we would have relaxed and settled down a bit but arshavins 2nd rocked us and the 3rd just killed us off so we had no other choice but to attack like men possessed. If arshavin hadnt equalised from arbys mistake i guess it could have been a different game.
Anyhow the way the game was going in the 2nd half i was getting nervous with every arsenal attack. With their sublime passing they could have nicked a few more.
I just hope this is another one off and wont happen again. Against hull its crucial we take the lead and play with complete focus.

Excellent attacking play but very poor defensively. Dunno what happened to our back 4.....and i wonder what happened to Reina? It's like everytime Arsenal did attack / have a shot , there's a feeling that he will let the ball go into the net. He looked very vulnerable...

i reckon its just a few too many individual mistakes, whitch is out of character

plus lets not forget weve played two of the best teams in world football and they have been clinical against us (arsenal 4 on target 4 goals)

lets also not forget we have scored 8 :)

Yeah, i'm happy with our attackers, how we approach a game....but the silly mistakes (the back 4 and goalkeeping) is something that worries me.  8 goals conceded in 2 games is not good and against arsenal, Reina seems no better than Fabianski.

But he done what he normaly does ran straight in to them, Hes a lazy little get as far as im concerned

individual errors, simple as. reina, arbeloa and aurelio have all been guilty of poor mistakes in recent weeks which have led to goals in recent weeks. agger also looked poor the othe night, probably due to lask of playing time.

we had something like 25 shots in the game, arsenal had 4 and scored 4 goals. as good as arshavin was he's unlikel to have a game like that again anytime soon. hell julio baptista scored 4 at anfield a few years back and look what happened to him.

we dominated the majority of the game and i'm really enjoying watching us play at the moment. the goals against has happened to everyone recently. even united and chelsea have been slipping 3's and 4's in recent weeks.

Yep teams do fear us now as an attacking force also a good point is now that teams know they can't sit back and defend in numbers cos we worked out how to deal with that will that make our home form a little easyer to hold up ?

I hope so any ways , as for the football we are playing atm I say it agian its fantastic to watch I am very happy man.

How often will teams score four goals and not win? Not very often, even though we've now done it two games in a row under very different circumstances.

Reina wants us to go back to a more cautious approach, I say no way Jose! :D We've drawn ELEVEN Premiership games this season and only two weren't 1-1 or 0-0. We've drawn far too many games, scoring lots of goals is a good way not to draw too many games. You just have to write off 4-4 as a one-off and assume the next time you score four your opponents won't.
