RB - Richards - 10 million
RM - Joaquin (maybe cheap at Valencia now) - 7 million
LM - Ribery or Silva - 20 to 25 million
AM - Johnson (cover for Gerrard) - 5 million
CF - Owen - free
Total Spend - 42 to 47 million

Dossena - 5 million
Itandje - 1.5 million
Lucas - 8 million
Pennant - free
Voronin - 4 million
Degen - 2 million
Total Received - 20.5 million

I think the above could be fairly realistically done for a spend of approx 30 million but I severely doubt it happening. Another 5 million or so could be raised by selling some unwanted youngsters. Also if we did sign the above type players maybe Kuyt or Benayoun would no longer be required. I would probably keep Kuyt ahead of Benayoun

Oh well nice to dream eh, back to my footy manager it is !!!

Raffa to give Spearing more football, looks small but handy :buttrock

Looks a very good transfer list but some changes to it
Richards ( dont see that happening)
RB- Glen Johnson - 7.5
and if i have to choose between ribery and silva i would go for ribery at 25 million
and i dont think johnson is required as CAM, if we can blood pacheco  :)
Owen or martins would be really good  :D
and i wouldnt sell Lucas, hes still young and one more season if we persist with him he might be very useful for us long term

I think if Johnson was available at around 5 million he has far more potential than Lucas. In fact from the small amount of play time Spearing has had he looks to have more potential than Lucas.

If we were to get Johnson and use Spearing more I would possibly look to loaning Lucas out for a year.

Also surely Owen at 28 years old, an ex Liverpool legend and nearly a goal every game he actually plays (ok that may not be too many) has to be worth a gamble on a Bosman

Yeah definitely Owen is boost especially if he comes for free :)

The Echo is reporting again today that we are in for David Silva come the summer which is brilliant news if you ask me.

I always had my reservations that he was a bit lightweight until I saw him at the Euro's in the summer when he was brilliant. He's also very much a Rafa type player as he can play in more than one position.

If we have enough money pre selling anyone for Silva and a right back. Then we can sell Dossena, Babel, and Yossi, and fund a move for a creative more right leaning player. My pick here would be Lavezzi from Napoli because he has pace and dribbling skills to operate outwide in the Kuyt role and also can play as Torres' partner, or off the shoulder of the last defender

David Silva is Liverpool FC transfer target
Mar 26 2009 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

RAFA BENITEZ is weighing up a summer swoop for Spanish star David Silva.

The Reds boss has identified the Valencia man as one of his top transfer targets – but will only do business if the price is right.

Valencia have hit massive financial difficulties in recent months and are set to sell crown jewels Silva, David Villa and Raul Albiol in an effort to bring their debt of 450m euros under control.

It is Silva who has caught Benitez’s eye though, with the Liverpool manager on the lookout for a versatile attacking player who can figure in a number of positions behind Fernando Torres as he looks to add strength in depth to his squad.

The 23-year-old certainly fits that bill and Liverpool have already made tentative enquiries about his availability.

They will only follow up their initial interest if Valencia are realistic about their valuation of a player who has won 21 caps for Spain.

Reports in Spain suggest the La Liga outfit are holding out for a fee in the region of £25m for Silva and with Barcelona and Juventus also both believed to be interested in snapping him up the battle for his services could be hard fought.

Liverpool are unlikely to be willing to pay that kind of asking price but Benitez will move fast it a compromise deal can be struck.

Reds chief scout Eduardo Macia – who took Silva to Valencia when the attacking midfielder was a teenager – was recently dispatched to Spain to check on Silva’s availability and was not discouraged by what he learned.

Silva was one of the stars of Spain’s victory at Euro 2008, operating in a left sided attacking role which allowed him to support Torres and Villa at every opportunity.

An ankle injury has stopped him from making as many appearances as would have been expected for Valencia this season.

But the midfielder returned to action in January and is currently training with the Spanish national squad ahead of this weekend’s World Cup qualifier against Turkey in Madrid.

There's been loadsa little hints dropped by Nanny and ciggy regarding Silva and Villa.

All i can say is if we got either of them it would be great, i hope they do actually know something that we dont yet as either play would clearly be a major assest for next season.

Both, we would be in dreamland.

and Agger AND Skrtel are both overrated by our own ... Hyypia still the best we got... Albiol would be first choice when he adapts to the league....

Don't rate di maria , playing in a cra.p league , he'd surely stand out . Skrtel is the best defender at the club now i reckon , he doesn't have the experience of hypia and carragher but he's not far off from being one of the best . Can't remember a game where he has put a wrong foot in all season , done tremendously well to regain his place in the side after injury and adapt back even better .
How can you say sami is still the best defender we have left , he has lost  majority of his pace and i have not seen anyone out muscle drogba out of the game like martin .

I'd love it if we got Silva, classy player.  If we can keep the players we already have, add Silva and a striker next season I'd be happy with that business.  We don't need major surgery, just a few classy additions.
