If Torres had scored the goal Dossena scored, they would be talking about it being a "wonder goal" and goal of the season. Because it was scored by a player not in the spotlight to the same extent, its dismissed as a simple lob over the goalkeeper.

Yeah it's unfortuante Saint but that is the truth. Still I am now hoping Rafa keeps him.

I said a similar thing for Xabi Alonso's goals that were over the half-way line. Had Ronaldo scored those, the media would have w@nked themselves into a coma by now. Beckham scored one, and look what it did for his career. I wonder was it becuase he was playing for United? Almost certainly. Because Xabi is a Liverpool player, the keeper was at fault and he wouldn't have scored if the goal keeper didn't slip etc etc.

I doubt most players would have tried it let alone executed it half as well. I can only guess the media tone down their acknowledgement of players like Dossena scoring goals like that because it is a rare® occurence and most people love to hear all about and see Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney, Torres, Gerrard etc - or maybe put another way it's about marketability and Dossena's dossier of great goals has how many in it? One? There's little mileage in the media waxing lyrical about a Dossena "wonder goal".

I watch just watchin some highlights, and I love how Gerrard just kind of pushes Ronaldo out of the way when he's bitching about Vidic getting the red.

i thought a straight red was a 3 game ban   ???

The Football Association have confirmed Nemanja Vidic will sit out Manchester United's next two Barclays Premier League matches after his dismissal in Saturday's defeat to Liverpool.

The Serbia centre-back was sent off in the 4-1 humbling by their title rivals at Old Trafford for denying Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard a goalscoring opportunity.

As it was Vidic's second red card of the season - the other also against Liverpool for two bookable offences in a 2-1 loss at Anfield in September - it means he misses two matches.

Along with this Saturday's trip to Fulham, Vidic is unavailable for the game at home to Aston Villa on April 5, one that could switch to April 4 if United play in the Champions League on April 7.

United midfielder Ji-sung Park, meanwhile, is convinced the club's worst defeat at home to Liverpool since 1936 will be nothing more than a blip en route to reclaiming the title.

Speaking to www.manutd.kr, the South Korean said: "Obviously it wasn't a good result for us, but the league is not over and we're still top.

"If we produce good performances, like we have been doing, for the rest of our league games this defeat will not be a big problem.

"We don't have a match until next weekend, so it's good we can take some rest and get ready to play Fulham.

"We must forget about this result, because next weekend I am sure we will be back with a good performance."

I think its only 3 games if its for violent conduct peewee, obviously grabbing Gerrard and dragging him to the ground wasn't violent , just a show of affection. :D

Luckily Masch will be ok after receiving his 5th yellow card as they increase the points needed for a ban after February.
