So how does that work then, we buy him for £20 million, which we haven't finished paying off yet, then 6 months later we sell him back for £15 million and somehow we have cash in the pocket??
If you get that to work Peewee you might want to give Gordon Brown a call.   :D

In all seriousness is no one the least p1ssed off that Rafa has just wasted £5 million of transfer money, I'm sure the owners must be fecking ecstatic  ??? Has to be said Keane was never going to work whilst Rafa is in charge though.

I know he's been a bit of a c*nt at spurs, but he does have a little more end product than Lennon. I suppose beggers can't be choosers at this late stage in the transfer season.

I still maintain that we need a big man to come in but Saviola would do for me. He's a clever little player with a few goals in him and we need someone so please get it done. I hadn't really considered Bentley but there's no doubt he would be an upgrade on Kuyt for the right-hand side but i'd be surprised if Spurs were willing to let him (or anyone else) out on loan. As for Lennon, I agree, beggars can't be choosers, just get them in!

20 million, we paid 9 million meaning we owe 11 million, spuds give us 15 million minus the 11 million we owe them leaves us with 4 million    :D

Saviola will not cut in the EPL. As it is, he's had problems cutting it in the Spanish league. A couple of months of physical punishment and he will return to his shell.

He's at a stage in his career where he's looking to sign a contract with whatever team is willing to take him on.

This could only work out as a loan deal till summer, but make no mistake, the kid has not progressed at all during his career.

Is everyone else of the opinion that it would be UTTER FOLLY to let this transfer window pass without bringing in a couple of players? This past summer has been reminiscent of Houllier's fatal fling (Diouff, Diao, Cheyrou) and yet we are in the best postion at this time of year since 1996. The squad desperately needs a shot in the arm and the right moves could be the difference between winning the whole thing and finishing 4th. To do nothing is tantamount to handing it on a plate to the mancs in my eyes. Pull your finger out Rafa/Parry....

Can you believe those skinflints at Arsenal. They reckon Arshavin is heading back to the airport to catch a private jet to St.Petersburg coz they are only offering half of the wages he's asking for! Only problem is the airport is shut. Arshavin playing behind Torres.......Wake up Scott  :(

there is a slight problem that is stopping us buyin players - ie MONEY - we dont have any for transfers so if anyone does come in it will be on a short term loan ie someone like Saviola maybe ?

would like gudjonson. Or Arshavin (but dont think we've got the money)

saviloa seems to be the likely target though, especially if he (or his representatives are in this country)

ok, interesting way of looking at, kind of ignores the 9 million we've already paid for him though. In  my book it's still a £5 million loss, did you miss economics at school  :rasp

Effectively we would of paid 5m for 28 appearances (7 goals).

So that's: c179K per appearance or c714k per goal.

Seems like great business....not.  :Oo:

One player I think would be a good buy for us would be Sturridge off Citeh. He's out of contract in the summer so would be cheap as chips, and is a very creative passer and gets a few goals too.

We could get him for about £3million and he's only 19 so would be one for the future but would be much better than N'GOG.
