Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Right finally its done and dusted.

A poor season is behind us with many lessons learnt and many positives to be taken.

For me Gerard Houllier deserves one last season to show a massive improvement. With the right signings this summer i believe he can do this.

Discuss...

Yeh, ideally i like to see a new manager, but with new signings and a bit of confidence I belive that GH can still do a job, and we can make vast improvements next season.

I am 100% behind Houllier for the moment as I think that he is goin to be here next season, so there is no point complaining about it, just support the team and GH regardless.

I am excited about next season, with the Prospects of Djibril Cisse coming to anfield, along with many good players being linked with a move here, with CL football making it much easier to sign these players.

hopefully we can beat the Toon on saturday and finish the season on a high, and then roll on next season.

Hopefully we can do the toon and Woodgate will see the light.

what a back defense that would be:

Riise, Hyypia, Woodgate, Finnan

with Vignal, Traore, Henchoz and Carragher as backup. I'd settle for that. :;):

The second string defense is as good as most of the premierships first teams imo.

I gotta stop dreaming :D

yeh , but I think that we can realistically sign a player like Woodgate, maybe Gallas and Mexes is also a solid defender also.

We have also been linked with Dawson from Nottingham Forest but i haven't seen enough of him to make an informed opinion.

Woodgate would be my first choice, then Gallas.

I'm not sure about Mexes but if we sign him i'll just have to wait and see. Same with Dawson although i'm sure he's not the answer.

Gallas is class, but i think Woodgate is more of a Liverpool type player. :)

I really want a new manager. preferably o'neill.

if next season we play like we have done the last few games then we'll be laughing.

I really hope that we make some good signings and that either shinawatra or morgan do an abramovich.

i wont see much of the transfer activity i will be in america for all of july :(

a new manager will (if he is good) play an attacking brand of football.
the style of football we had this season was purely defensive. we'd get a goal in front and sit on the lead then it'd go level and we'd panic when tryin to go back in front. i think thats why we dre most of our games this season. but that all seemed to change in the last few games. maybe gh has seen the error of his ways. regardless, i just cant wait for next season.

defensive attacking it doesnt matter as long as we win.

andy reid your having a laugh.....

woodgate would be great signing but it would take a LOT of persuasion.

A lot of persuasion:

" Hello Mr woodgate do you want to play in Europe this season sir?"

"Yes"

"Sign here then sir"

Andy Ried?

So let me get this straight... you want a FIRST DIVISION, LEFT footed, LEFT winger to come into a PREMIERSHIP club and play on the RIGHT wing.

So basically you are talking out of your ******. :)

Nice!!!

andy reid is a class act and he's the next duff. we should buy him even if he's second to kewell for a season. he'll put more pressure on kewell to perfornm and will provide great back-up for when hk is injured. a big prospect for the future and he'll only cost about 5 mil.

can't play im on the right tho
