£785 for one ticket - now that's a Real deal as Madrid exploit Liverpool clash
By JOHN EDWARDS
Last updated at 11:00 PM on 15th January 2009

Real Madrid have put on sale their most expensive-ever tickets for Liverpool’s visit in the Champions League next month. Top seats at the Bernabeu on February 25 will cost £785 — and that’s before the touts get hold of them.
The VIP ticket comes with a complimentary team scarf as well as food and drink from one of the club’s restaurants, but it is still double the price of the same ticket for a match against Juventus last November.

Real spokesman Javier Cano says the ticket is aimed at corporate guests who cannot afford a VIP box for the season because of the economic climate. ‘We expect a lot of interest for this match,’ he said.
The tie is the first competitive game between the clubs since 1981, when Liverpool beat Real in Paris in the European Cup Final.
Daniel Agger faces a dressing down from Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez after it emerged on Thursday that preliminary talks over a possible move to AC Milan had taken place without the club’s permission.
Anfield bosses were angry to discover the defender’s agent, Per Steffensen, had flown to Milan for lunch with the San Siro club’s chief transfer negotiator Ariedo Braida on Wednesday.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has instructed Braida to set up a deal for Liverpool’s £5.5million buy from Brondby, despite Benitez insisting he still hopes to reach an agreement with the 24-year old over a new Anfield contract.
Steffensen said: ‘It is not true we were talking about a contract for Daniel. I was there to try and build up a relationship with the club.’

I feckin am scared you know. I'm sure they willwant someone from our team in the summer. Right now I'd say Stevie would not go there or negotiate but if they attract a few more top players and something happened to Rafa a big bid could temp the owners. It's sickening to think it's only a matter of time before they come to us. We should set Gerrards price at 140mil and Torres at 125mil now. Only kidding.

This is crazy.

Kaka if you do this and it sets of a chain reaction which costs us any good player of our squad I'll come to Brazil and kidnap you family you :censored:.sucker!

The whole situation is worrying.  You know, this move might actually happen. Kaka loves the club that he is currently with, however the EPL is the best league in the world and he may decide that he wants’ to prove to himself that he can play in it.

Reports suggest that Kaka is very down to earth and that money is not is top priority (why should it be, he's already got a millions).

From what I have seen of him, he does genuinely seem down to earth-a role model for fellow professionals if you like, unlike others we know (C.Ronaldo).

If he does come, it would be bad for football, as it would set a precedent on player’s monitory value.

As others on the forum have mentioned, if he does indeed arrive, then it won't be long before Man City come knocking on our door for Stevie.G and Torres etc.  As H&G are looking for money, they might consider selling our top players.  The thing is though, no matter how hard they try, the fans won't let them.

I for one minute do not see Stevie.G and/or Torres ever going to Man City even if Rafa is not the manager (just a feeling I get).  I'm sure that if we had this type of money, Rafa would never pay the amount being branded about for just one player.  We'd get 4 - 5 quality players.

AC Milan fans are going to raise their concerns at the next game.  Let' hope they get though to the AC Milan management etc.

ITs just crazy....

City have increased Kaka offer

£108 mil to the buy player
£108 mil for 5yr wage deal
£27 mill to cover all fees

£243 mil this is just madness.

The owner of Man City has apparently gone on record (Arab News) to confirm that Kaka has agreed terms to sign for the club.  Approx $150mil.

This is the start of something very bad. Although I agree with that sort of money you can build for the future (provided the money is made avaialble for players) you cant possible think along those lines. I hope should we get tested by Man City that the owners resist.

Kaka demands 20% salary rise to join Man City
by Anil Bhoyrul

Brazilian superstar Kaka is demanding a 20 percent increase on his staggering $730,000 weekly salary offer to join Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City - as compensation for him not playing in the Champions League.

Sources close to the club owners on Friday told Arabian Business that the $150 million deal to bring Kaka to Eastlands from Italian giants AC Milan was now "likely" and the owners are hoping to parade their new signing on Sunday.

The source said: "There has been a lot of ups and downs and the sticking point has not been the transfer fee but Kaka's wages. His people have seen the offer made to him as being on the low side and they are looking to raise it by 20 percent given the fact that Kaka will not be playing Champions League football for now at least."

However, the source added, Kaka's people have now indicated that their man is now inclined to accept the offer.

On Thursday, sources close to the club suggested that the club owners had withdrawn their offer for the former world player of the year. However it now appears that both Kaka and AC Milan have been pushing for the transfer to go through.

The source added: "The big advantage right now is that there is a global credit crisis and there are not many clubs in the world as financially secure as Man City. This is a very big attraction for Kaka."

Arabic newspapers and TV channels were also reporting on Friday that Kaka could be unveiled by Man City as early as Sunday.

Does anyone know what the highest paid NFL or NBA player is getting a week?

Because to me this is ridiculous and I don't think anyone else is getting this amount of money

this is absolutely ludacris, simple as that
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Arod for the yankees I hear gets about 30.  But if Kaka is getting 500,000 pounds a week, and wants a 20% pay rise on that, 600,000 pounds is 28.8 mil a year.  Holds the record on any US player by a lot.  Would be like $42,373,440.17
