Well mate its a sad day for football if this goes ahead!I know there are plenty of players who are nothing but mercenaries..but this just totally takes the pi$$ out of every transfer ever!
Makes me sick in fact when you think of players that only retired 20 or so years ago who now have not a pot to pi$$ in!Look at Kennedys life for example?

If this deal goes ahead the transfer market will never be the same again,it will raise the bar.FFS its more than double Zidanes record fee only a few years back.

I still dont think it will happen..if it does I guess it will be great to see him play in England cause he's breathtaking to watch at times.Saying that it would be equally as pleasing to see him fail to settle and flop. Its a whole different type of game over here..beautiful player that he is theres no cast iron guarantee he can hack it!

sad day for football barry? I don't know, I don't think so, it would be great to see him play in the premiership. I love him as a player, He is quality and one of the top 5 in the world, to see him play in the premiership is good, unfortunately not for us :(

Why Tom and George? FFS, both are good on getting loans and extending them, so why not go get a 100m loan and buy kaka :D

Yeh, it would encourage clubs to sell their players higher than their market value.

I think you were right the first time Barry, a sad day for football and a sad day for any football fan. They will price the regular match going fan out of it, what you will finish up with is more and more fans that go once a year or even just the once (for the experience)rather than fans that go every game.

because of Kaka s@int?

I disagree, I didn't see Chelsea doing that when they did it the first time.

Because most clubs are running at a loss Metalhead. Chelsea had Abramovitch so they didn't need to worry, Citeh have your cousins so they will probably be ok, but for the rest of the league that have to compete with them its going to lead to more and more clubs raising prices or having to sell out to foreign owners and hope for the best (like we had to).

Players want bigger and better contracts, and who pays for them in the end?

Only clubs selling players to City will sell for inflated prices. Otherwise it will be BAU more orless for the rest of us.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.
