Ok but the post wasn't about what rafa is doing i don't even think he knows what he is going to do week to week.

I thought the topic was about what do we think ?

So back onto topic please !  :D

Come on Owen this will be your last chance lad! He has to come out and say something to start some rumors! :D Maybe Michael can get on the phone to Jamie or Stevie and ask him to ask Rafa. Cant hurt. :D

So the 66% that voted yes on here are not real Liverpool supporters?

Owen?  No freakin' way, he isnt good enough, he's too injury prone and he's past his prime.

What short memories you lads have, so many times he just stood up front and contributed f'all to the game.

No way.

I don't think there's  cheating.

Most of us are fans because we don't go to games, the supporters are the ones who go to the stadium week in week out (the way I understand support anyway).

It's true that for some reason most of the Liverpool supporters of this forum don't want Owen back. I too can understand why. But when you can win a league for one or two points, the needs of the team are as important as how the supporters feel about something.

Well said
Owen can definitely score more goals than Keane + Babel + Ngog +Alonso + Kuyt (or whatever the spelling is)
So why not have him back??

Name me a better player you can get for Under £20,000,000 plus wages and signing on fee thats as good as Owen.

Now try naming one that you can get for under £10,000,000.

Now try one for £5,000,000. Now try one who's proven, scored goals, played for the club and knows what its about is a top professional, has mates here already is english and knows the club inside out.

Lets face it, the only thing you're worried about is the amount of game time Kuyt won't get if we sign Owen, it'll constantly be two of Keane, Owen and Torres which would suit me fine as all the players are quality. Then if one was to get injured, you've still got two other top quality players.

So what your saying is, if I narrow it down to the limits you have set, I have a choice between Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen?

errrr.......I give up.....

Maybe his day he might be up there but lets face it his day is well and truly over.

So out of 200 you are giving Nando 190. He is currently the best forward in World football and has just won the Euro 2008 with Spain, scoring the winning goal in the final.

You then mark Owen  only 5 points behind this man??

Fabio Cappello must be a very stupid man - he has a player who is fit and almost as good as the Fernando Torres and he STILL wont pick him   :oh:

But he will pick Defoe  :nod

Oh get your own opinion for :censored: sake. No-one gives a toss about some bloody italian managing a team hardly anyone on here gives a flying one about. Defoe is nowhere near as good as Owen, never has been, never will be. FACT!

Owen is definitely one of the players we should be looking at in January (if we have any money at all that is).

Other players we should be taking into consideration imo are:

Valencia
Guttierez (quality imo - I know he isn't long signed for Newcastle though)
Martins
Gudjohnson (cu.nt but a good player)
Heinze
Tuncay (very underrated imo)
Eboue (not long on his contract, far from flavour of the month at Arsenal, but still quality when actually played in his best position, which is right back)
Benny McCarthy (Out of the team at Blackburn, but has proved can score goals in the Premiership and could be a decent short term signing)

A controversial list, but we have to be fairly realistic.  Personally I don't think Rafa will be allowed to bring anyone in unless he sells.  Ideally he'd like to offload Pennant I reckon.  If he doesn't then I can't see us getting anyone.  Despite his injuries and the history I have to agree Owen would probably be the best deal we could hope for in January, but he would have to take a massive wage cut and I just can't see it.
