It's all down to Rafa ... What formation will he play ? 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2 ???

Liverpool have kept just two clean sheets in their last 17 league visits – last season and in September 2001 when the Reds won 2-0.

92 goals have been scored in the 30 Premier League meetings between the sides-just over three per game.

The last Liverpool player to be sent off against Newcastle was Salif Diao on New Year's Day 2003.

The last Liverpool player to score a hat-trick against Newcastle was Michael Owen in May 2001 at Anfield.

Alvaro Arbeloa made his league debut on this ground in February 2007.

In four of Liverpool's last five wins over Newcastle Steven Gerrard has scored.

The Reds are looking to win at St James' Park in successive league seasons for the first time in 21 years.

Should the Reds prevent Newcastle from scoring it will be the first time they have kept successive clean sheets on Tyneside since November 1984.

Joe Kinnear has an excellent record as a manager against Liverpool. In 19 previous meetings in his career (all with Wimbledon) he has lost just three times and never been beaten at home in nine clashes.

Should be interesting.

If he plays 4-4-2
I am not sure Babel on the left is the way to go. He cuts inside too much and with Gerrard comming forward, Keane & Kuyt/Torres up front and Benayoun/Kuyt on the right (they also both cut inside) we have feck all width. They'll be shoulder to shoulder in the box.
My Preffered formation:
------Keane----Torres/Kuyt-----
El Zhar---Alonso--Gerrard-----Kuyt/Benny
Insua---Agger----Alonso-----Carra
-------------Reina----------------

If we play:
4-2-3-1
It looks a bit better with Babel on the left and Kuyt on the right Keane/Torres up front. We get to play Mash, Xabi & Gerrard all together too. But if Torres is fit it would ne criminal to start Keane on the bench.
My perfered formation:
---------Keane/Torres---------
--Babel-----Gerrard-----Kuyt--
-------Alonso-------Mash------
Insua----Agger----Hyypia---Carra
-------------Reina--------------

If everyone selected is fit tough decision for Rafa today.

Its usually a game with plenty of goals, I'm gonna stick with 3:1
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

We should win this game comfortably if we play with the same passion as we did against Bolton.

Sadly though we haven't seen many of those performances.

If we can continue to play in the same manner the rest of the season we will have a great chance of winning the title.
