why have him as coach when the young players can learn off players like gerrard, masher and xabi(what better three to learn from) plus sammy lee was a good midfielder himself.

His experience could prove invaluable towards the end of the season if we'r still in a title challenge and are having to deal with injuries or suspensions in the middle of the park...
Plessis is years away from being anywhere near reliable...lucas is a little better but i dont think he has enough experience to come on and make any sort of difference if needed...

Having said that.. going by that logic i think it would make more sense to go for an experienced forward since we seem to be lacking in that department... a Larson-like signing would be brilliant imo and more needed than Hamann or so...

And dont really know if Hamann would make a good coach... maybe he will maybe he wont... get him after his playing days are ovr imo not now...

Owen would be 1st in the list of player to sign in January if available... if not go for a quality right winger whos eligible for champs league football...maybe try to get rid of a player or two if we'r gonna need the cash..

IF WE'R NOT BRINGING IN ANY PLAYERS IN JAN. I WOULDNT SELL ANY OF OUR PLAYERS EVEN IF THEYR SHTTY SQUAD PLAYERS !

I would love to see Didi back at Anfield he was a model professional on the pitch, but anyone who read Carra's autobiography will know that there is a different side to him.
He constantly underperformed in training, to the degree that even Carra, one of his best friends couldn't believe that he could train the way he did and still give first class performances on match day.
He is also named in the same book for liking a drink and a bit of a gamble, now before I get slated i'm not saying that those reasons make him a bad person or even indeed a bad coach.
I just don't believe Rafa would have him back in a position within the club that he could influence the youth players.
Didi is the last of his kind, he is a throw back to footballers of the seventies and eighties who enjoyed everything that being a professional footballer allowed them, and unlike the modern day equivalents he didn't let it effect him on the pitch and for that I rate him as one of the best midfielders we have had in the last ten years.

Hamman left because he wanted regular football in the last years of his career...why would he want to come back and sit on the bench?  Step backwards for both the player and LFC in my view.

Mind you, he would be a good signing for the likes of Hull or Stoke...or even Fulham.

Here's an idea, let's buy back all of the players Rafa sold and call it progress - BACKWARD progress.

Too old, living in the past, past it, better remembered as a legend than returning only to fail...... etc etc

Maybe Germany should have recalled "Hamman" for the friendly because of that goal at Wembley
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
