Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Id love to see Keane at LFC hes a great player with a great attitude! He will give 100% every game!

Surely a player in his position will ask himself where he will feature in our team regularly. Its obvious we get the best out of Torres in the 4-2-3-1 with Gerrard in behind him.
Would Keane be happy being a squad player?
I would doubt it very much!

I think hed run all the way to Liverpool if he knew we wanted him

Keane has already turned down the chance to join us twice Nanny, maybe third time lucky. Problem with him is he doesn't play well with a partner, maybe that could work though as supposedly Torres can't play with a partner either.

He seemed to do pretty well with Berbatov last season mate.

The two goals he scored at anfield (although poor defending) where both scored after flick ons from Berbatov.

Keane has 10 assists in 3 seasons - Berbatov has 18 assists in 2 seasons, while scoring more goals too!

Saint i wasnt comparing Keane with Berabatov mate, just saying that they linked well. The play as a partnership not just two strikers who get goals for themselves.

I wasn't comparing them Ace, just showing (trying anyway) that Keane doesn't make many goals for his partners 3ish per season. Put him with Torres (4 assists) and they aren't going to make a lot of goals for each other imo.

I would prefer a creative second striker who scores about 12/15 and makes about 15.

I think he would be an ideal sub when Torres isn't fit, but I don't think they would make a good partnership if played together, but maybe they could score enough for it not to matter too much?

Yeah I seen that Saint.

He wasnt much when he was here but in fairness he was near the end of his career. I also heard it mentioned that he will be coming in to help the young guys with the zonal marking which cant be a bad thing

Juventus Linked With Roma’s Aquilani & Galatasaray’s Arda As Liverpool’s Alonso Transfer Stalls
Submitted by Niraj Prabhu on Sat, 2008-06-21 13:20. Liverpool Premiership Transfer News

Juventus are linked with Roma’s Alberto Aquilani and Galatasaray’s Arda Turan as it appears increasingly likely that Xabi Alonso could stay at Liverpool although nothing seems definite at the moment.

The Turin giants are apparently not happy with the price tag the Reds have put on Spain midfielder Alonso, and as such are looking at other players.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are once again taking a look at Aquilani situation as the Italy international is said to be not entirely happy at Roma, but is also linked with Inter Milan.

Turkey international Turan is now being eyed up by several clubs following impressive performances at the Euro 2008 where his country is in the semi-finals. He is also linked with Arsenal.

Keane would be a great signing for LFC. He could play as a 2nd striker (off Torres) or in the Kuyt role. He is a winner who is at the peak of his career at the moment.

Get him signed up NOW Rafa :)

Well why dont you explain yourself properly then mate  :D

I see what you mean (based on the stats) but am surprised at that, i think he is quite creative, i know what your saying when you say he is not the creative second striker like say Diego or Arshavin, but he is not too bad at linking things, knows the league and would probably score more goals than the others that you mean, i know the others would create more, but given our style of play that is 100mph who would fit better ? Probably Keane imo.

I dont think we could get him anyway tbh so its all hypothetical  :)

While I think he has slightly more to his game than Bellamy, I think you are pretty close to the mark there Paul. :nod
