The Prem or Champions League title.

Unless of course we finished second in the Prem, runners up in the CL, and won the League Cup and FA Cup.

I would consider that progress.

luka modric looks too lightweight for premiership and dos santos aint all that, neither would make it into our squad let alone first team so worries with them 2 if anyone asks me

He said he's been snorkelling.

Modric is quality. He'll be brilliant for Spurs. I'd take him in a heartbeat. Would certainly walk into our squad no problem at all. He's better than Benayoun.

Within 5-7 points of the leaders is the MINIMUM.

agreed , we'll see that next season . I think modric would be a flop and maybe dos santos will be good , he has the time to develop and he's still very very young and if he is a flop , spurs would not feel it too much as they payed very little for him .

I am surprised how people can be more optimistic now when you look back a year. We brought in Torres, babel etc and we finished 4th!

Now we all know we are skint and we have to sell to buy and all that and still some fully expect the title and nothing else.
It is one thing being hopeful and another to be ignorant and
*****.

It seems it doesn't matter if we bring in Degen and another 3 bosmans and sell Alonso and manure and Chelski spend another 50 million this summer.
Rafa's head has to fall anyway it seems. Talk about a no win situation for him.

Chelsea has been ahead of us the last 4 years and goes out and spend 16 million on a new right back.
We get one on a bosman.
I am not saying Degen is garbage, but please, draw some conclusions from this fgs!

And it is all nice and well to talk about the spine of the team until we die.
But will a body just move freely with just a spine???
What about the flanks?
There has been no money over ever to spend on one and we haven't had a top class winger since Barnes left(maybe Mac)

Past years we have had to go through the bargain bin and has had players like Pennant, Nunez, Kewell, Gonzales, Kuyt and so on. Not one of those are better than what other top 10 clubs have!

Gonzales is the perfect example of what is wrong with peoples expectations.
He came for 1.5 million which is peanuts and everyone thought we had a gem and world class player.
Why?

Cause we waited so long for his arravial?
Cause we heard someone say he was good?
There was very little hard fact and still everone was raving on about how great he was.

So while on one hand everyone totally agrees we are

1. Skint
2. Knows teams like City and Spurs will outspend us, nevermind Manure and Chelski
2. Ended 4th last season
3. need to fix our ownership situation

At the same time everyone DEMANDS much much better
results no matter if Degen, Barry and Dossena are the only new players.

Talk about contradicting yourself.
And if Rafa will not conjure up that title please tell me who
can do it? And at the same time mangage to keep Torres and Masch and other key players(happy).

Allerdyce? Redknapp?  :no

Just accept the situation as it is and enjoy the coming season.
The sooner you accept that the :censored: at old toilet will pass our title number the better, cause deep down you know it is inevitable.

My only hope and small expectation is to get rid of the owners.

2nd place and keep the 2 stooges or 5th and see the 2 stooges sell?

I know what I would prefer.

tbh i settle for 10th this season to get our club in the hands of some one that loves the club and knows what they are doing.

Its early in the transfers give it time and talk about it in a month or 2 then we see who we really got and havent got.

Then and only then i think we can start to talk about our chances.

Just watched Rafa's review of last season on lfc tv, and it reminded me that despite all the disappointments we weren't that far off (despite what the stats say)

What will be good enough ?

Well for starters as far as newkit is concerned, we put our prejudices aside and get behind ALL the lads and Rafa.

As for were we finish , of course I want us to win everything but being realistic , top three, a trophy and season of some great footy will do for me.
