no pre order for me .....but my gimp brother in law is willing to queue from 11pm for it so he can have a game hahaha!

I rang up Microsoft and asked for it to be repaired. I got two e-mails, but I'm not exactly sure what I need to do. Can anyone who has had to replace their 360 enlighten me?

This is what the e-mails say:

This notice tells you that a UPS shipper has sent you an electronic UPS Returns Label.

You can print and use this label to include in your outbound shipment, or send it to the consignee. The label will be available for 10 days.

Thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support! We are processing your request to repair your console. In the meantime, please read the IMPORTANT information below:

We have 3 shipping methods to get your console to us:

Where you receive an electronic mailing label - (I think that is what I have.)

· You should receive a separate e-mail notification with instructions for printing the label. Follow the instructions below to ship your console to us using the electronic label.

· If you have not received your electronic label in your e-mail after 24 hours, please check your “junk mail” or “spam” folders in your email application. If the shipping label email is not present, please contact Xbox Support to verify your email address, or request an alternative shipping label.

· Use a sturdy package that is well padded to help protect the contents during the shipping process. The service centre will return the repaired or replaced components to you in our own packaging.

· Write your full return address and the Service Request number on the outside of the package.

Where you receive a paper label

· You should receive this in the next 3-5 days.

· Please package your console before this time.

· When UPS arrive, they will attach the label to the box immediately and take it away.

· Use a sturdy package that is well padded to help protect the contents during the shipping process. The service centre will return the repaired or replaced components to you in our own packaging.

· Write your full return address and the Service Request number on the outside of the package.

Where you receive a pre-paid shipping box

· You will receive an empty shipping box with further instructions included in the package.

· Below is the shipping information for the packaging materials.

· You can track the status of your package using the website and the tracking number provided above. (The tracking number may take up to 24 hours to activate).

What to do next

· Remove the Hard Drive if attached (Xbox 360 only). For more information on how to do this, see KB Article 906204.

· Remove any custom faceplates (Xbox 360 only). For more information on how to do this, see KB article 907331

· Remove any discs from the disc tray. For more information, see KB article 907532 or KB article 906935. For the original Xbox, see KB article 817396.

Do not:

· Do not write Xbox or Microsoft on the outside of the package.

· Do not use your original Xbox or Xbox 360 packaging to send your console to our Service Centre, as it will not be returned.

· Do not include any Games, Hard Drives, AV cables, Controllers or any other accessories with the console unless instructed by an Xbox Service Agent.

My address has changed?

· We can only perform return address changes before you have shipped your console to our Service Center. Address changes after this time are not possible.

How to check on the status of your console repair?

You can do this quickly and easily by signing in at https://service.xbox.com/servicesignin.aspx. Once you have logged in, click on the relevant device and then click on “Review your repair status”.

Once we receive your console it will take 2-3 weeks to get it back to you.

I'm just a bit confused because on service.xbox.com where you can check how the order is doing, it says I'm on step 2:

After it is processed, your repair order status will change to Waiting for device at service center. The total length of this process depends on you! We will ship an empty box to you by using ground service. When you receive the box, you will pack your console using the included instructions. Send it back to us by using the ground shipping that is included.

I queued at gamestation for an hour, their were about 150 people in total, played it for an hour and I really like it, gonna hit the sack now and play some more later.

im new to all this, whats that one about? splinter cell ive done a prison break type palava and only kileld one person so far... loving it.
dont buy many games and just get one i like and play it to death!!!

Chaos theory was the Splinter Cell before this, Double agent. One of the last great titles on the old xbox. And it has way better features, storyline, MP, characters, gadgets and more importantly - Immersive TENSION. I downloaded that full game off the Xbox marketplace last week and its STILL the best stealth game yet. Double agent introduced daytime missions which are cr@p, if not flying in the face of the whole point. Not to mention the split loyalties stuff. Meh! They started to ruin the series. Dont get me wrong, it IS good - maybe awesome even, like you say....but there has been so much goodness gone before it. Its a shame the way the devs are taking the idea. As for SC:Conviction (which to all intents and purposes looks shelved indefinately) not decided upon/compared against the merits of Assassins Creed, which has a very similar mechanic under its hood from what we were led to believe. Conviction needs to offer a whole lot more than first suggested. A return to traditional (and highly successful) values in the series for my money, may yet be a wiser choice by Ubisoft.

If you are going to get absolutely immersed and engrossed in a sneak-em-up. You will do worse than track SC:CT down used/cheap from GAME or t'internet somewhere as its backwards compatible with the 360. Sam Fisher at his finest! :nod

Infact some might say the latest incarnation of him, was anything BUT Sam Fisher.

Do some research on the net.

GTA 4 online is just f*cking amazing. The free mode is astounding. Rockstar have just made everyone's wishes come true by adding that. The most fun you will have online in any game. Fact.
