What are your most under rated games?

For me the first one has to be soul reaver. Ive played many games since then but for story, graphics and general enjoyment this ps1 classic is hardly ever mentioned when it comes to the best games ever.

Streets of Rage 2. One of the best games on the megadrive. At the time, there were many beat em ups at the arcades but none could compare to this one. Again though, never mentioned.

Desert Strike. Another megadrive game but how hooked was we when we played it? In fact it got worse as the series went on but the first was the best.

Out of pure interest, and because im struggling to think of many other under rated games never mentioned what are your best ones?

Soul Reaver was fantastic. Brilliant characters and voice acting, as well as some of the most atmospheric environments ever in a game. A game begging to be made into a film, really. Or at least proper "this" gen remake.

As for a game of my own, the most underrated game of all time has to be Body Harvest on the N64. It's as simple as this: no Body Harvest, no GTA 4. It's that important, and sadly that overlooked. It was made by Rockstar North. But they were under a different name at the time. Same team that went on to make GTA3. If you look at Body Harvest, it's easy to see where GTA3 got it's game play from. Awesome game, and once again, some of the most atmospheric game play ever. I loved it. A remake on the Wii would be brilliant.

Right, I've a few MS points spare and I want games to DL. I'm thinking Doom and Worms. Doom's gotta be worth the value of 400 points. Is there a community that plays it online, I'm wondering?

Call Microsoft and have them fix it under the three year warranty.

However, I think I remember you saying that you had it modded to play pirated games so maybe that might not be the best idea. :D

Oh dear.

Yep, I'm afraid if you seen those lights, and if indeed they are still present, then your 360 is indeed f*cked and needs repaired. There are several factors involving the red lights, the most common is due to the effect that heating and cooling does to the solder. It heats up so much that it softens and when it cools, it causes cracks to form causing the malfunction. It can be easily fixed if you know what you are doing. It's said the main reason is because the X clamps become lose over time, causing insufficient contact with the GPU so it overheats like a b@stard. There's a few tricks to fix it for good; one cheap one involving nothing more than an erasure, or one involving a towel (not permanent). However I'll give you a warning:

(DO NOT TRY THE TOWEL TRICK. IT WILL DO MORE DAMAGE)

I feel sh*t for you, mate. My cousin had his 6 month old Elite get some E74 (or something like that) error. He then got those lights. He left it in with some joker (voided his warranty because MS are pathetic slow b@stards regarding their guarantee scheme which can take up to six weeks) because he couldn't wait for MS repairing it due to GTA 4 coming out, and he scratched the board taking the heat sinks off, rendering it useless. He's been through THREE 360's now in two years. MS are a disgrace for shipping that console the way it was. Whoever came up with the design should never work in the field again. He/they f*cked up big time. Without doubt, the 360 is the worst built console in history. The early Atari's were a joke, with controllers that stopped working straight out of the box, but MS has surpassed that. The DVD drive sounds like a jet engine, and the actual shape of the console is what's contributing to it's very downfall. In fact, the DVD bay is the killer. It's located directly above the CPU and GPU, practically suffocating them of cool air. It's been three years, and MS STILL haven't sorted it.

I've seen the RLOD on my system once. That was about 2 months ago, and I've not seen them since. Touch wood.

I take it you're unfortunate enough to be waiting on GTA4?

SOME GOOD NEWS!

I went to an xbox specialist (usually I get my games there) he told me it can be fixed, he told me all about the problem and he told me that I wasn't the first one, so he is going to fix it for me for 50 dollars.

there is hope after all :buttrock

You could also try to revive it (for a temporary period) using the 'Xbox360 Towel fix' - google it.

In a lot of cases this works (like i say, for a short term solution). Good news about the guy who will fix it though - which is the aim after all.

NOOOOOO!

DO NOT DO THAT!

It will cook other components, and could potentially f*ck up the flow on the board stopping power getting to the chips. Think about  it: if you turn your console into an oven, what do you think will happen to parts inside it? It may work for a wee bit, but you ultimately run the risk of having to buy a new console outright.

Yeah, the warm towel trick is ultimately self defeating.
