same here mate, got it early 2006 and last week 3 red rings, but some people wouldn't know this problem existed before they buy the console.

It is a fairly common fault sadly. Until recently it was understood to be related to earlier models. But that isn't stictly true....

I had a 2006 model (premium) which was trouble free. Im on an Elite now (Falcon mobo) and this too hasn't let me down. Fingers crossed!

Its bad luck either way and i hope you both get it sorted out (at no extra cost).

I haven't got GTAIV on pre-order. I hope I won't have problems getting a copy on Tuesday. I didn't pre-order Halo 3 and got a copy no problem on release day.

Looks like it will be practically impossible to get 1000 gamer points on GTAIV. One of the achievements states that you need to beat a Rockstar employee in multiplayer. Literally a needle in a haystack and may encourage cheating.

GTA IV

Im gunna get a xbox today, well tonight for GTA at Gamstation, only the cheapest version, im on a tight budget but would it still be good to play on? Or should I try and fork out a bit more for a better version of a XBOX, how much difference is there between them? Any help would be great.

Make sure its got a Hard Drive and not one of those utterly useless Arcade models which require memory cards - no good for anything them. HD all the way...bigger the better :eyebrow

the next one up has a hard drive only 30 quid more, sounds like its worth it.

Premium pack everyday of the week mate, worth the extra notes for sure, memory cards are freakin useless!!! :;):

Just spoke to gamestation in Northwich, they are having a midnight launch and you don't have to pre order so he took my name and I'm going there tonight :cool:

Look forward to seeing everyones opinion tomorrow.

We'll have to get some multiplayer on the go :;):

I got GTA4 and its awesome.

A hell lot of fun, it takes time to get used to driving the car.
