The Udinese midfielder, 23, has been a revelation in Serie A this season and has been watched by a host of Premier League clubs, most notably Liverpool and Manchester City.

And club president Giampaolo Pozzo said: "Many clubs have asked about him but a couple from England are particularly keen. But we would want at least £8million for him because he has been brilliant this season."

Rafa Benitez looks favourite to land the Blackburn and England wide man this summer.
‘Bentley, who has made clear his intention to displace David Beckham, feels that a move to the Reds would significantly enhance his international prospects’

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Bentley is said to favour a summer move to Liverpool.

A whole host of clubs, including Chelsea and Newcastle, are reported to be monitoring the 23 year-old, but sources close to the player have revealed that he has his heart set on a switch to Anfield.

This will come as a blow to Blackburn manager Mark Hughes, who sees the player as an integral part of the club’s future.

Bentley, who has made clear his intention to displace David Beckham and secure a permanent berth on the right of England’s midfield, feels that a move to the Reds would significantly enhance his international prospects.

Liverpool need only two more points from their remaining three games to secure a Champions League berth again next season, while Blackburn look certain to miss out on a UEFA Cup spot.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez will have funds available to move for Bentley in the summer, despite simmering tensions within the club at boardroom level. It is also thought the Spaniard is looking to offload winger Jermaine Pennant who, despite scoring at the weekend, has struggled to keep down a regular place in the side this season.

Liverpool held talks for Mallorca's Trejo
tribalfooball.com - April 21, 2008

Liverpool have been told they must cough up £7 million for Real Mallorca youngster Oscar Trejo.

The People says Reds boss Rafa Benitez has been impressed by the Argentine and hoped to sign him on loan during the summer. Club officials met the 19-year-old's agent for talks last week. But Trejo could only leave if Liverpool pay his buy-out clause of £7m.

Several reports have suggested that Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is planning a summer swap deal, which could involve offloading out-of-sorts Riise and Crouch and bringing in Gareth Barry.

Barry and Gerrard have formed a formidable partnership in the middle of the park for England, but Benitez may not see the need to bring in yet another central midfielder, with Gerrard, Lucas, Mascherano and Alonso already all vying for the coveted role.

Barry is a left-footer who can play the sitting role, the ‘hole’ role and even on the left wing. He is reputed for accurate passes and crosses, as well as a deadly shot.

Liverpool very close to £25m signing who would be the perfect partner for Torres!

April 20, 2008

Rafa Benitez has revealed that summer transfer plans are well under way and this latest bout of speculation could well be an explosive one for Liverpool!

David Villa has reportedly opened a door to a £25m Arsenal move but should that deal fail to come to fruition then Liverpool are ready and waiting to snap him up (Daily Telegraph)

Could Benitez’s links with his former club help him to secure the signing of the 26 year old deadly finisher? Torres and Villa have already worked incredibly well together at international level and I am sure Liverpool fans would be delighted to see if they could continue that partnership as a club pairing! Could this be the dream team Anfield supporters would love to see?

Liverpool line up £10m midfielder and he looks pretty good!

April 20, 2008

Admittedly my knowledge of Rafa’s latest transfer target has been limited to the occasional live Serie A game on TV and some Youtube clips, however he always looks pretty good.

Liverpool and Manchester City are chasing Udinese’s midfielder Gokham Inler. (News of the World)

£10m rated Inler has come to the fore due mainly to injuries to more established Udinese stars, the Swiss international has helped the northern Italian team to within a grasp of a UEFA Cup place and looks like a smart player who could prove a worthy addition to the Liverpool squad although the price may be a little steep. What do Liverpool fans know about this potential signing, does he look good enough for an Anfield move?

Bayern fail in Lahm deal
by Toby Davis, 22 April 2008

Germany international Philipp Lahm could be set to quit Bayern Munich after the club withdrew an offer of a contract extension.

The announcement is likely to spark a flurry of interest from Premier League clubs after the player admitted he was eager to move abroad.

Lahm’s current contract expires next year and Bayern must now decide whether to lose the player on a free transfer in 2009 or sell him in a cut-price deal in the summer.

My plan is to leave Bayern before I'm past my peak," Lahm told Stern magazine.

"I've played for two years at Stuttgart and I'm in my third year at Bayern, the biggest German club. The logical next step is to go abroad."

Lahm is a regular starter for the German national team and has been linked with a possible move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

This is a great chance to sign him up and at a cut price.  Come on Rafa get him.
