smog.

When everybody put coal(remember that!) on fires and chimneys puffed smoke out, the whole neighbourhood smelled of smoke.

And 2 TV channels meant that everybody in my class watched the same tv programme the night before and we'd all talk about it (A team, knightrider,fall guy etc)

Pre-email when you received a nice thick letter from a friend telling you all the comings and goings. Now with instant comms all you get a is one sentence email these days and some jokes

Smog! Fckin real pea soupers... I used to love it when it was so thick you couldn't see your mates a cuppla yards away... great fun.

Remember the coal truck coming round... 1 bag or 2 for your coal bunker? Cuppla filthy looking blokes sat on the back of the wagon.
