just what did happen, we started the year looking good, a team bedding in.
on the 15th sept we draw 0-0 with Portsmouth then it was 1-1 with FC Porto (a good draw) then we draw with Birmingham 0-0.

things picked up again after the Besiktas 8-0 game till we hit the Reading game.

what was going on at the club at the time?

when did Rafa's right had man leave ?

from the 2nd of sept we had 14 days, did anything go on that we dont know?

for starters there was those poxy internationals were Gerrard played with the aid of pain killers. Also for the Pompey game Benitez proved his motives were Europe by dropping Torres.

Then the same thing happened in the Reading game, Benitez brings Torres, Gerrard and Carragher off because we our next game was a Champions League game and since then the premiership has been laughing at us, because the players now fully understand that Benitez only cares about Europe. So why would the players want to perform in the league, it's obvious Benitez doesn't care about it, so he can't motivate them for it. That's how I see it anyway.

it seemed it was at that point that Rafa made up his mind about what his aim was this year, or was it to do with Paco

rafa made his mind up at the start of the season that it was europe he cared for. it's been his only priority since he joined

But that's boll..ox isn't it because Torres started the Reading game in the Carling Cup just days later and scored a hatrick.

because the point i'm making is benitez isn't interested in winning the league, if he was he'd of played his best 11 in every premiership game and dropped the likes of torres and gerrard for the carling cup

So you're intimating then that Rafa wants to with the Champions' LEague and Carling Cup, but not the Premiership.

Damn you have worked out his nefarious plan and next year we wont even being playing in the league at all. Just turning up for CL games and occasional Hicks hunt...............Smithers release the hounds

I feel that a lot of what is going is due to Rafa losing the players when Paco left, the date of him leaving and our poor form starting are far to close.
