I actually don't blame him Woof TBPH. I'm not saying Anelka isn't a good player because he is, but at 13 million or whatever he is going to represent a big gamble at his age and even more so with his temprement. His tendency to throw the toys out of the pram if he doesn't play or whatever wouldn't appear to make him the ideal Rafa signing.
The time to take a punt on him was a couple of years back as hindsight would indicate, 6 million and only 26 with his ability represented little or no risk as it turned out. I must confess though i am talking 100% with hindsight there.

I heard this as well. They said Rafa is possibly about to make a bid for Matias Fernandez from Villareal as well as a £5 million bid for Nolan.
£5 million for Nolan is way too much and is yet another example of us shopping at Aldi (never mind Tesco) instead of Harrods.
Matias Fernandez
He is described by Global Football Database as an attacking midfielder, a playmaker and a free kick specialist. He can also play as a striker or centre forward, if required. Before leaving to Villarreal CF he was awarded the South American Footballer of the Year 2006 for his campaign with Chilean club Colo-Colo.
