R. Madrid - LFC ... uhmm ... too much for me, I think. I am sure I would be as nervous as I would be if it was Atlético who played them
this being said, seeing Torres scoring against Real Madrid (by the way he has only done it once in his career) is definetively a nice idea
let's wait and see. If you finally come to Madrid keep us posted, we will tell you where to go

Spanish paper El Mundo has published a very long interview with him recently: he seems veeery happy in Liverpool, looks like he has taken off a lot of the pressure he had in Madrid and he says how much he is enjoying the football played in England again and again. Good for him, good for you too.

Additionally, Sabre has finally seen the light just like Saint Paul, let's all thank the Kid:;):

Hi guys, was wondering about this...

ever since Torres left AM, they have been improving... they've added very good players in Forlan, Garcia, Reyes, Sabrosa. Also a year earlier they bought Sergio Aguero... so these players make a very strong squad capable of challenging for the title...now they're 3rd behind Real and Barcelona and not too far off with points either...

I wonder what Torres thinks about this? Does he regret not staying in AM? or were these purchases possible only throught the sale of him? Did he say anything on this in the Spanish press?

I saw in an interview that the only football that he watches other than preparing for matches are Atletico matches, I think that he still cares very much for his former club.

Also in the Torres / Dalglish interview, Torres mentioned that other than Liverpool, of course, he still supports Atletico Madrid.

Regardless of what team Torres plays for, Atletico Madrid is his boyhood team and you cannot just turn that off.

It would be interesting to see a match between Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.

Magus: Torres has sent a couple of messages. He has repeated several times that he's doing well things in Liverpool because among other things, he thinks he's playing in a great club, in which the little details are well done and he just can focus in playing football. It's not a matter of luck he said. IMHO, by that praise to Liverpool, he's sending some messages aswell to the Atletico board.

If the atletico board learns the lesson and allows Aguirre to work several years in a row, they'll notice the difference. Because until now, that bench has been one of the most electric one in Spain.

Muchas gracias sabre.

I think the sale of Torres has been great for both clubs. Torres was under extreme preassure in Atlético Madrid and it must feel good to have that chip off his shoulders. For Athletico Madrid it has meant they have been able to strengthen several positions which have made them a better team all together. I was one of many who doubted Torres but I'm glad to say that I was totally wrong. Torres has looked better than any striker I have ever seen during my life time.

All hail the mighty El NINO!

HALA ATLÉTICO MADRID!

Torres was indeed under serious pressure in Atlético. He was give all the responsibility at the age of 17 and he never refused to do what he was expected. For years he has been the only (or almost only) quality player in the squad, the captain, the one attending press conferences, shooting penalties, reading nasty comments in the press and unfair comparisons with other (specially Real Madrid) players, signing the kids shirts and taking the blame when things did not work.
Atletico board, as correctly pointed out by Sabre (as usual) is possibly the less efficient, more corrupt and less team-caring bunch of people in the the history of football. For years they have used Torres to sell shirts and score goals that would help the team stay in the first division. Torres, a committed Atlético fan since the age of 3, always fought for the Club.
They finally sold him. The guy could not take it any longer and no rational Atletico fan could ever blame him. They also sold the stadium. The goal of both operations was to make the board a bit richer, but they could not afford another grey season after both sales. They decided to buy a bunch of good players for a change.
The fact that Atlético is doing better this year cannot be explained on the grounds that Torres left, but, on the contrary, on the grounds that good players arrived. I would have liked to see Torres playing with the rest of the squad we have this year ... so far we have only seen him playing with horribly poor players in the midfield. Now it is different for him. They guy got to liverpool, he started playing with Gerrard and now seems that they have been playing together for years ... Supernatural connections? nah, just a matter of quality ... Torres never had a Gerrard in Atlético. As simple as that.

With all the talk about Liverpools new stadium being drastically redesigned yet again, here is a photographic history of Valencia's new stadium being built.
