Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The Atletico mate has asked for all the Rafa and G&H saga, and I've made him an update for him and and the Spaniard visitors.

In tongue in cheek, we're commenting now that since he's been in Liverpool Rafa has won a few pounds in weight :)

Right then my spanish friends i have a question for you. I've just watched Bilbao beat valencia 3-0 (sorry Sabre)and my question is Why do the fans wave handkerchiefs to show there displeasure and what does it symbolise if anything.  Just thought i'd ask out of curiosity.

Mucho's Gracias in advance.

It comes from 'Toros' (a.k.a bullfighting) here in Spain. Well, it stands for some kind of complaining when the public is angry with the 'torero' (bullfighter). Its widely used, and it means something is going very wrong with the Club involved :D

I hope, you understand me

It's a gesture borrowed from bullfighting, a way to protest to people in charge.

I usually don't post, but I thought I could be of some help here.

Hi, Liverpool fans from Spain, England and everywhere. I've suffered a lot this year, you know what I mean, but things are improving. Keep the faith :)

Actually, when directed to the bullfighter it's usually to praise him. It depends. Might be to ask for "oreja", "orejas" or "orejas y rabo" :D

I don't watch bullfighting regularly anyway :)

Un saludete.

From what I have been watching recently, it seems that Torres is quite self confident again. He may miss goals but he seems calm, trying difficult moves and succeeding. Spanish paper El Mundo has published a very long interview with him recently: he seems veeery happy in Liverpool, looks like he has taken off a lot of the pressure he had in Madrid and he says how much he is enjoying the football played in England again and again. Good for him, good for you too.

Additionally, Sabre has finally seen the light just like Saint Paul, let's all thank the Kid:;):

GO TORRES. GO LIVERPOOL.  :buttrock
