Yeh great lil guy, unfortunately his team lost this game 11 - 3

:D
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Here's the full story from the Echo online:

Rafa Benitez lines up move for Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay

Nov 14 2007

by Ian Doyle, Liverpool Daily Post

Racing Santanders Argentine centre-back Ezequiel Garay

RAFAEL BENITEZ is contemplating another Spanish raid in the January transfer window as he seeks to bolster Liverpool’s defensive resources.

The Anfield manager is tracking Racing Santander’s highly-rated Argentine centre-back Ezequiel Garay.

The 21-year-old, who made his full international debut in August, is being courted by a clutch of Europe’s leading teams for his performances in La Liga following his move from homeland club Newell’s Old Boys in 2005. His move to Spain came after Garay had starred alongside former Liverpool defender Gabriel Paletta in the Argentina under-20 team that won the FIFA World Youth Championships that summer.

Now Benitez has earmarked Garay as he seeks to provide further competition at centre-back to Jamie Carragher, Daniel Agger and Sami Hyypia.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus are also believed to be strongly interested in a possible transfer, with Garay likely to cost up to £10million.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson sent his brother Mark to watch the Argentine, while West Ham United, Barcelona and Chelsea have also been linked in the past.

Meanwhile, Benitez believes Alvaro Arbeloa will soon be knocking on the door of the Spanish national squad following his fine start to the season at Anfield.

“If he continues playing well then I am sure he will go with the national team and play games for Spain,” said the Liverpool manager.

“He was really unlucky earlier in the season when he was playing really well for us and then got injured because he could have had a chance then.

“I don’t know how close he is or if the manager is thinking about him, but it’s clear he is playing well for us.

“When we signed him we knew he was a player with quality who could do a good job for us in different positions. He gives us the options we need to be able to rest different players.”

No great history of success with the 'E's

Emule Heskey - £11m
El Hadji Diouf - £10m
Erik Meijer - cost what he was worth as I recall (nothing?)

But the Exception has to be Crazy Horse
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Just read on the Echo website that he played with Palletta. Let's hope Palletta was not Ezequiel.

(p.s. that will go over so many heads)  :D

Garay is a good prospect, certainly has impressed me in La Liga. Not sure he is the top class center half we are looking for, but he is a very good defender, has good game reading and all that.

If I were Jack Hobbs I would be discouraged and :censored: off if they brought in another young South American Centre half.  But I guess competion will ensure that the CLUB will only have to play the best.

So would I mate, I suppose they can always say that this is Hyypia's last year and that we will need 4 CB'S for next season?

Must be heartbreaking for him that he never got a league game while Agger as been out though.

Can't say I have ever heard of Ezequiel Garay, but I had never heard of Agger either before we signed him.

We could be rumored with a 25 year old with experience in England to replace Hyypia for the next couple of years, but we are not.  Obviously, nothing has happened yet, but If I were Hobbs, I would be thinking that Rafa has picked this Argentine to be the long term replacement for Carra while he serves as the number 3 centre half and will in the future partner with Agger. A lot can happen in that time span, but a small part of me is worried that Hobbs might not ever get his chance until he is loaned out to a championship side that eventually buys him out.  I guess we aren't there in training everyday, maybe he just isnt up to snuff and he doesn't have the quality.  On the other hand, maybe its his lack of chances that are inhibiting his growth from experiecne.

Real Madrid legend and junior coach Michel has criticised Liverpool over their capture of Argentine youngster Gerardo Bruna.
"I was surprised when he left," Michel told AS, "because he had been with us for three years and as soon as he was about to mature, Liverpool took him.

"In England, when they see one they like, they take him. They sign the player to a professional contract and put him in the reserve team, that does not play competitively.

"How many young players taken by Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal have actually played for their first team and how many have returned?"

Bruna made his debut for Liverpool's reserves in yesterday's 0-0 draw with Blackburn.

Thats my problem with the young players we've signed, non of the first bunch Rafa signed have made the break into the first team, players like Hobbs, Idrizaj, Insua, etc are old enough and played enough to have a crack in the first team but haven't had a sniff, how many youngster sat in the reserves does Rafa want?  :no

Middlesbrough are the only club to have made an offer for Barcelona's out-of-favour Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho, with a bid of £10m. (Independent)

It says on Wikipedia that 'CSKA Moscow Radio have announced that Daniel Carvalho has agreed a four year deal with English club Liverpool F.C', though it's unsourced.
