New Zealand's has to be Wynton Rufer.

From Wikipedia:

Rufer was an enormous success as part of Rehhagel's team, winning the German Cup in 1990-1991, and scoring in Werder's 2-0 win over AS Monaco in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1992. His partnership with Klaus Allofs played a major part in Werder's 1992-1993 Bundesliga success, and he was the top scorer in the 1993-1994 UEFA Champions League tournament, winning another German Cup that same season.

Rufer was also voted Oceania's Player of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 1992.

Malaysia = Mokthar Dahari,

Played in the 70's and early 80's, still is regarded as the best Malaysian footballer ever, even today (says alot about M'sian footbal doesn't it??), had a trial with Man City (but found it too cold I think, the move didn't happen).

Isn't he that little weasel like character on ESPN's Football Focus in Asia led by John Dykes?

Am not a big fan of him as a pundit... spouts sh!te like theres no tomorrow.....

If he played as well as he speaks, and he's considered to be the best in they ever had, then I shudder to think about the state of football in Malaysia.

PS: Not a dig at Malaysians, Keris..... Just don't like the weasel.

Definitely...... McMahon's been on the show for sometime now.... and he takes no prisoners does he? He calls it as he sees it but you can see the dissapointment on his face when let's rip into LFC after the last 2 games. He does talk sense IMO but I just wished he didin't do it so publicly sometimes... you know what I mean?

i like macmahons honesty mate, he says it like he sees it and doesn't make excuses, a few people on here should try it sometime.

my only gripe is that he hasn't slapped shebby or masefield yet

You're definitely right there.... I respect him for it.... I used to get really upset with him but not as much any more as I see the validity of his points and the fact that some of the things he's been saying really NEEDED to be said imo...

, personally I sometime cringe at what he had to say, or I just put the volume on mute whenever a question was put to him. :laugh:

Heard on a radio interview once, he won't be overawed by the other pundits and really wants to exert himself as a football 'expert', in doing so, he might have expose his naivety.

But calling for Gerrard to play as right back is really overdoing it

He was quiet the defender during his playing days but there are those who are way better than him.
