Emilio Butragueño was a great goal poacher I rated, but, I wouldn't consider him the best. You could name important names like Arconada, Michel, Butragueño, Raul at his best... but it's true that it's difficult to say "who's the best".

Maybe Alfredo Di Estefano, although he was born in Argentina, and Puskas , who was born in Hungary. They've been perhaps the most praised, the most winning Spanish nationality players

Germany - Beckenbaur
USA - Donovan (!)
Trinidad & Tobago - Yorke
Brazil - Socrates (well, really it's Pele isn't it, but that gets a bit boring)
Argentina - Maradona
Holland - Cruyff
France - Zidane

I've obviously never seen John Charles play but the fact that Juventus voted him their best foreign player of the 20th century is good enough for me (surprisingly they didn't vote for Rushie :D )

Because he played for a small country and played many years abroad, he often gets over looked as a true legend.

Denmark - Laudrup (can't remember which one)
South Africa - Benny McCarthey
Israel - Ronnie Rosenthal
Japan - Shinji Ono

Spain is the puzzler. I'd probably go for Raul but, as some have already stated, it's a hard one. Luis Enrique maybe?

Was Elisha Scott not a goal keeper?? I have never seem him play, but I do know he holds the record of being Liverpools longest serving player (1912 - 1934). There have been some top class players come out of Northern Ireland.......

George Best
Danny Blanchflower
Pat Jennings
Billy Bingham
Gerry Armstrong
Norman Whiteside

The best is deffo George Best!!

You have to be old to remember Luis Suarez :) His left foot was indeed a good one, although the others (Puskas and Di Estefano) both got the Spanish nationality, and I don't like to undermine the nationality if they got it.

in Italy, you mean Paolo Rossi, the 1982 hero? Great striker, but I'd doubt to consider him better player as  a whole than Baressi or even Maldini.

Actually it's difficult to say who's better, a keeper like Dino Zoff (what a legend), or a striker like Rossi .

I was going to say Baresi or Zoff but I thought I'd be different and say Rossi, his stint at the top was short but brilliant.

I don't count Puskas or Di Stefano as Spanish, despite both of them playing for the national team on a few occasions.
