Good to see that the manager of the supposed "biggest club in the world" is keeking himself at the thought of playing us BEFORE THEY'VE EVEN KICKED A FREEKIN BALL IN THE CL!!!!! Really does seem to be alot of attention heading towards Anfield this season, and with good reason, The reds are comin for ya!!

Schuster is just jealous of Rafa's full goatee as he has sported that pathetic moustache for years.  :D

I would love to draw Madrid. I thought we'd tw@t them last year and think the same now with even more confidence.

I don't think we've ever played them, have we?

Ever? What about the 1981 final.

Just to add. This season, in six games we've had NINE different goalscorers.

Not bad for an unattractive team.

Schuster should be grateful to Rafa because he has his job just because Rafa snubbed the offer for that job.

Yeah, as if they didn't have 9 CL titles already, dude. Is that failing?

he'll be in the unemployment line within months (after real are knocked out by liverpool in the champs league perhaps)

I'm casting my mind back 10 - 15 years or so when we were getting beat by Strasbourg/PSG/Spartak Moscow and the likes. Noone gave a toss about us on the Continent. For the Real Madrid coach to make comments like this only goes to show how far we have come. I take it as a compliment to our team.
He is talking out of his hole of course. Barcelona? I remember playing them off the park home and away last season. I can't remember any "ugly" football (apart from Ronaldinho's face. :D

Precisely. Sounds to me like yet another muppet calling us a boring and ugly side based on popular beliefs and rumours started years ago.

According to many myths the mancs play the most glorious football ever, the 'treble of '99' was the greatest team ever, Liverpool play ugly, Gerrard dives, the mancs won everything with kids, football began in 1993 and then again in 1999, sixty or more pubs in Teeside showing illegal match feeds are reducing Boro attendances (had to throw that one in!), Boring Boring Arsenal, the game is ruined by foreigners, Best is the best of British, the mancs are the biggest club in the world, UEFA does take a hard line on racism............
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

I don't think Liverpool would want to meet Real in an early stage.

They have some excellent players.

Upfront:
CL alltime topscorers
Van Nistelrooy: 60 goals
Raul: 59 goals
and Robinho + Saviola

Midfield they also excellent players:
- Guti
- Sneider
- Baptista
- Diarra
- Robben
- Drenthe (not a defender)

And a very solid defence, with players like:
- Salgado
- Pepe
- Ramos
- Heinze
- Metzelder
- Torres

We could shut down Real Madrid very easily, and they may have some good defenders but as a unit they can be shaky.

And Cannavaro, one of the best in the job, IMHO.

At this level no rivals are easy, but if I had to put money right now, I'd put the money in Liverpool. Barcelona attacking men that when it comes to names are superior to our men (Henry, Etoo, Messi, Ronaldinho) but as a team, Liverpool is absolutely powerful and that in football is more important than names most of the times.
