I don't have any problem with players going off to England as we don't play games at the same time. The concern is fatigue and injury. It is only Israel, I think the chances of us not beating them are the same with or without Gerrard ie we've got cr ap results with him in the team before. Russia is tougher but SGE showed what happens when you take injured players to finals

I'm not one of those who hope England don't qualify, but if we don't qualify and lose McClueless then it will be worth it. After all I think most will agree we have little chance of getting past the QFs, in fact he may do a Keegan and go out at the group stage (it was a tough draw but we threw it away thanks to playing cr ap players)

Did Newcastle not get compensation for injury to Michael Owen? I think we should tell the FA that we want him back fit to play the next match as he would be if he weren't playing for England, if not then we want £100k for every match he misses thereafter.

i really hope gerrard doesn't , take on rafa in a battle of club verse country on this and rush back and try to be the (beckham type) hero of the nation, because rafa will talk to the doctors and side with caution to have one of his most influential players fit ,for the large part of the season,

mcclown wouldn't give a sh!te if gerrard breaks the toe again and leaves us with out him as his links are strongest to manure, the ginger feck wit

he has brought heskey back and that sums up him as a manager, cr@p

but this is more an issue of gerrard and him balancing his desire to do better for his country by beating a lowly country in qualifying , or being 100% fit for his club, there is no way as a country we should be needing one player to save the day against a cr@p team at home, and gerrard needs to wait for a big games to turn on the heroics imo, i hated it when golden balls had to save us from the greeks,

gerrard has an obsession about performing for England, so he will not pass up playing with them if he can. he wants to play every minute of every match as it is (well thats what he says)

mcclaren is just relieved that he doesn't have to do any real kind of management to try and convince the player, and thats why he's blabbin to the media about how important gerrard is. PITY HE COULDNT SEE THAT BEFORE WITH CARRA. ok so thats off-topic...

If that tufty headed frizzled manc, plays Gerrard whilst he still isnt fit and we lose him for months there will be hell to play from Rafa, he wont release any of our players for future England games you can be assured of that.

if he isn"t fit to play for us, then he shouldn"t even be considered for the national side!
i can understand alot of us want England to have the best available side going
but if that means risking a player who could damage, themselves with futher setbacks
makes no fecking sence to either club or country! fecking hell are we thet dependent
on stevie g that even with fat frank out we can"t survive one game! fecking hell
i dispair for this country - cause most pundits say we shouldn"t play
the both of them in the same side anyway! this way they should have there wish
& let the fecking ginger tw@t work it out for himself - feck he get"s paid enough

The fact is McClaren has nothing to lose by playing Stevie even if he isn't one hundred percent fit. But Liverpool do. Thats what pisses me off so much. Ginger cunt. If McClaren knew how vital he is to our squad then he wouldn't play him for the risk side of things. But he's an ugly manc so he won't :veryangry

But on the other hand, if Gerrard does play, looking at the positive, these england games could get Gerrard match fit for us, just like Michael Owen :laugh:
