Scolari 6/1 To Succeed Wenger

Scolari 6/1 fav to succeed Gunners' boss:

WENGER: 9/4 NEXT STOP REAL MADRID?......With Arsene Wenger's long term future at Arsenal now under review following the departure of Thierry Henry, William Hill have opened a book on where the Gunners' boss will be managing on the first day of season 2008/9 and have installed Real Madrid as 9/4 favourite, and also offer 3/1 still at Arsenal; 7/1 Barcelona; England manager; 12/1 manager of France; 16/1 AC Milan; Inter Milan; 20/1 Chelsea, Lyon, Juventus; PSG 33/1 Liverpool; 50/1 Man Utd.
'We make Wenger 2/1 to leave Arsenal before the start of next season, and 4/11 still to be there' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'But there is much speculation about whether he will stay around for longer than season 2007/8, so we are betting on where he will be when the season after that gets underway'
AND HILLS have also opened a book on who will succeed Wenger as permanent manager of Arsenal when he does finally depart, and they have made Phil Scolari 6/1 favourite and also offer 7/1 Hiddink; 8/1 Capello; 10/1 Lippi; 12/1 Erikkson; 14/1 Rijkaard; O'Neill; Van Gaal; 20 Mourinho; 25 Tony Adams; McClaren; Jol; Ranieri; 40 Roy Keane.
ARSENAL have been backed to drop out of the top four next season with William Hill who have cut them to finish fifth or lower from 5/2 to 7/4 and make them 2/5 from 2/7 to finish in the top two.

If Bayern make the move for Klose then we should try and get Podolski because he will be spare parts at that point.

Liverpool use Cisse to bring down Torres fee
tribalfooball.com - June 23, 2007

Liverpool are willing to include Djibril Cisse in their bid for Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres.
The Mirror says Reds boss Rafa Benitez won't meet Madrid's £25m valuation of the Spanish international and now chief executive Rick Parry is trying to get £6m chopped off the fee by throwing in Cisse as part of the deal.

France international Cisse spent last season on loan at Marseille and he and his advisers were told yesterday that he can start negotiating his move to Spain.

Atletico fancy Cisse after missing out on Torres's ideal replacement Vincenzo Iaquinta, who chose to join Juventus from Udinese last week.

throw in luis garcia too and we got him at half price (which is what is probably worth) and my perspective I saw cisse as a write off anyway and if torres does come it will take a piece out of Garcia's time on the pitch anyway.  Need to save as much money as possible to be able to get a winger or cover for Finnan.

Has Rafa or anyone from the club actualy come out and stated (apart from Beniyoun) who they are interested in or who they have made a bid for?. Im like everyone else just speculating who we are trying to sign but at the end of the day no one apart from them know.
I would love Torres or Tevez at Anfield but we dont even know if Liverpool have gone in for any of these 2 players its all tv and paper talk, nothing actualy concrete from the horses mouth.
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

Forlan, a striker mentioned in this thread before, has apparently snubbed an offer from Arsenal as he wants to stay in la Liga and go to Atletico Madrid.

Cannot blame him wanting to stay here after playing for the Mancs  :)

hey sabre.
i was checking soccernet and phil ball gave his team of the season
torres wasnt even mentioned
milito and villa were first choice with ruud on the bench.
he says villa is the complete striker.
and milito was preferred to rudd cus ruud had better service.
hmm...can the same be said about torres? liverpool might provide better service then a.madrid.

Article in News of the World (online) says Atletico want Forlan to replace Torres who is on his way to Liverpool .Garcia also going to Atletico as part of Torres deal. Apparently £18 million cash plus Garcia for Torres.

It sounds like Little Luis wants to go back to Spain!! Therefore if we can use him as a makeweight for the Torres deal then we might as well...

Wasn't Garcia rumoured to be going to Athletico last summer or January? ???
