David Villa says he wants to remain at Valencia, despite continued reports linking him with a move to the Premiership this summer.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are all keen to lure the 25-year-old marksman away from Spain.

However, the Spanish striker, who is under contract with the Primera Liga outfit until June 2013, insists his future lies at the Mestalla.

"My wish is to stay here," said Villa. "Not only this year but in the future because I am under contract and I hope I can extend it.

"In any case, we will have to wait and see what happens this summer."

Villa has established himself as one of the hottest properties in European football since joining Valencia in 2005 from Real Zaragoza.

He has scored 15 goals in 35 league appearances this season, helping Valencia secure fourth position in the Primera Liga, which guarantees UEFA Champions League football next season.

As for Simao Benfica last week said £12 million and no less.

Liverpool made offer for Man Utd target Renato
tribalfooball.com - June 12, 2007

Liverpool and Manchester United have both made approaches to Flamengo for attacking midfielder Renato Augusto.
Radio Globo says before United expressed interest last week about a £12 million deal for the Brazilian teenager, Flamengo actually had rejected a £9 million offer from Liverpool.

Asked about interest from the Premiership giants, Renato simply laughed leaving the question unanswered.

Liverpool granted clear run at Benfica's Simao
tribalfooball.com - June 12, 2007

Liverpool are set for a clear run at Benfica wing ace Simao Sabrosa.
While Olympique Lyon and PSG have made contact with Simao's representatives, it's understood he's made them aware he isn't interested in continuing his career in France.

If he must leave Benfica, Simao would only consider a move to England.

Liverpool chief Rick Parry confirmed to the Portuguese press at the end of the season that Simao remained a top target for manager Rafa Benitez.

The Truth Behind Liverpool’s Italian Rumours
Vincenco Iaquinta, Amauri, Giorgio Chiellini, Mancini, Juan Manuel Vargas: the list of Serie A based players being linked to Liverpool is increasing at a rate that makes it hard to believe that all these rumours are simply spurious. Add to these the loan transfer of Daniele Padelli and a pattern starts to emerge.

One that leads to Mauro Pederzoli. The one time Brescia and Cagliari technical director - who in Italy have total control on who the club buys - befriended Rafael Benitez when he was still managing Extremadura some fifteen years back.

Over the past two seasons, Pederzoli has been Liverpool’s chief scout in Italy, working closely with Eduardo Macia looking at players not only in the top flight but also lower down the league structure. When Chris Bascombe said that Macia “can be sure his dependency on the same Italian agents will be monitored if the signings aren’t good enough.” in the Echo some time back, he was unwittingly referring to Pederzoli who, it transpires, is not an agent but actually a Liverpool employee. And whilst his initial deal – Padelli - might not have been the best calling card possible, Benitez values his input highly.

In an interview with Il Giornale , Pederzoli recalls how the two met whilst he was representing the then Albacete boss Gigi Maifredi "common friends introduced us and he asked me to become his 'eyes' in Italy. We both said that it would be nice to work together one day and we're finally capable of doing so."

The interview also offers an interesting insight on Benitez's character. "The Benitez that I first met is very similar to how he is at the moment: he thinks about football twenty four hours a day."

Pederzoli also reveals Benitez's fascination with Italian football. "He describes Arrigo Sacchi as the greatest manager of the modern era. Rafa often came to Italy to meet him, to study his methods. They both have a lot of things in common: their attention to detail, the importance that they put closing down space and how they choose their players."

In fact, it is drummed into all of the club's scouts that Benirez does not want flashy players but instead disciplines ones who are physically imposing. "He does not judge a striker simply by the number of goals that he scores. He wants players who are fair and tough. That is why Liverpool didn't have player sent off in the league.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly lining up a bid for Barcelona youngster Marc Crosas.

The 19-year-old midfielder made his Barca debut earlier this season following an impressive run of performances for the Catalan club's B team.

Crosas could follow former Barca youngsters Cesc Fabregas and Fran Merida, who are both now at Arsenal, in moving to the Premiership.

"After Barca, English football is my passion," Crosas is quoted in the Daily Mirror.

Benitez is believed to be looking to land Crosas initially on loan with the possibility of him making the switch to Anfield permanent at a later date

:D It's almost insulting for nowadays Spanish market.

PMSL.

I'd pay 1.5-2 M pounds tops for him anyway. If that's few money, it doesn't matter there are dozens like Benayoun in other leagues.

Anyway it's interesting because it's likely we'll see somebody for the right side midfield :)  which will mean, no more Gerrard in the right.

Liverpool have emerged as a rival to Manchester United in the hunt for Brazilian wonder kid Renato Augusto.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have made a £12 million bid for the teenager. However, he is set to face competition from Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, who had a £9 million bid for the player rejected just days before United made an approach.

It is believed the Liverpool boss will make a fresh bid for a player who is considered to be the hottest young property in Brazil.

This is who we should be buying. Only seen him on youtube but with a name like that he must be good :D
