Agreed.  Very frustrating but we just need to ride it out and hope these losers get bored.

As an ex mod and having a fairly decent idea of computing IP addresses are not a reliable way of identifying alter egos as some service providers have dynamic IP addresses, some have the same IP address for all its customers and also an individual's IP address can fluctuate from time to time if the person is using a router as the router can alter the IP addresses it gives people connected to it from time to time.

Infamously the Red Baron had an IP address identical to that of LIVERPOOLANYTIME and that left with us with egg on our faces after we had to take action against the Red Baron for something he later turned out to be innocent of, although we publically and privately apologised to the Red Baron and reinstated him.

i thought there was something fishy about that swindon character, now all is revealed

most wums can be spotted a mile off as they're straight into gen chat within 5 minutes of registering. most of the proper members in gen chat just kind of slowly drift there once they've been a member for a fair while

i do like the idea of the activation code.

I know nothing bout programming, so don't know how easy it would be to set it up.

I want people to 'ride the storm' as it never used to be this bad. and hopefully they will get bored soon

I certainly do not want  people to leave this forum. I only have 800 odd posts, but I really like this forum, and prefer it to any others I have glanced at like RAWK or RAOTL, and i want to keep posting on here.

...as much of a pain as it is- is it really that bad to make you want your account deleted??? This is exactly what they want to happen and will only encourage them to do it more.

Frankly i feel sorry for the poor :censored:- imagine having no life and only getting a reaction from people by posting porn or trying to wind people up! They must be sitting in their rooms wan.king themselves silly over a picture of Luke Chadwick!! I come on this site (during work hours) a lot but i actually have a life out of it where i can wind people up in person!! :D

Ignore them, delete their accounts and they'll pi.ss off somewhere else.

I know it sounds stupid but i really do feel sorry for them and hope they can have a happier life where they get friends and maybe even a girlfriend (i assume these are sad kids, as adults have better things to do with their time) and don't have to resport to impregnating tissues their whole life!!

Don't let it get to you so much- personally i'd ban all their IP addresses and if it affects someone else then they can PM a mod to sort things but if we can't i'm not going to let it get to me.

Amiga was oasis.

orlandored was not oasis but it was someone from Robert's forum and I've got a very good idea of who it was. Before you say anything it was not Roberts so put your torches away :D

Both these people have now been dealt with by me and Paul's forum  :;):

Now let's move on.

Well he's history now regardless.

While I'm at it, that orlando guy is history in about five seconds as well.

Then we can all get on with it.  Gotta feel sorry for newbies on here.  Certain people moan about cliques and newbie bashing on here.

It's cause half of them only come on here to cause trouble.  What's so bad about this forum?  Why does it attract loads of dickheads?

You just don't see behaviour like this on other forums!!!!  ???

Nice work, Jonny..."Jorge" was another no mark with way too much time on his hands.

I reckon we're just going through a bad patch with the WUMs.  We must be the top Liverpool FC board around judging by the muppets we attract...and there will always be sad feckers out there who feel the need to have a pop at this great club and its supporters.  Comes with being a top side, I suppose.  Throw in a few disgruntled former members and you've got a high probability of f.uckwittery every so often.

As for the genuine newbies, I agree that they sometimes get a rough ride.  Tarred with the same brush and all that...  Hopefully most of us can bite our tongues until we're sure the newbie's a WUM rather than wading in with the accusations straight away.  Conversely, I hope that true fans have a thick enough skin to ride out the settling in period.  Take a page out of Saint's book: branded a Manc early on, he stuck to his guns and kept posting.  Eventually his credibility was established and he's now a valued member.

Bottom line, there's very little wrong with this place and we all need to keep that in perspective.  A few WUMs won't ruin Newkit for me, anyway.

When I wasn't a regular on here I used an english expression that I used to read in a computer forum "you're X and I claim my five pounds", that raised all the doubts about me being Spanish :D , but what you say is true, if you stick to footie and you show respect to LFC, everybody sees that eventually. This forum is full of nice people, and I'm not talking about the most known ones, but loads of good posters.

I find it very sad that a few t0ssers ruin it for everyone else. I used to welcome newcomers and try to make them feel at home, but now I tend to keep away from them and treat them with suspicion. I know its wrong, but after being "bitten" a few times it tends to make you suspect them all.

A post from a "regular" that is accepted as genuine criticism, would be immediately jumped on if it was written by a newby, and treated a confirmation that they are a WUM. I am sure many good genuine posters are unhappy at the welcome they get on this site because they are suspected of being WUM'S. I try to keep an open mind but like most I become more cynical by the day :(
